Debbie's POV.
My head throbbed with unbearable force making me groan. I heard someone whisper my name from beside me. "Debbie, are you okay?"
I yawned and turned to look at the man. A familiar man. He was tied by the wrists and his feet were barely touching the ground.
It took me a few more minutes to realize that it was the Detective at the police station that accused me of murder earlier. I scowled at him ready to start cursing him but I realized that I couldn't move my hands and I soon noticed that I was in the same position as Detective Storm.
"What the hell?" I questioned trying to move but my body swung around.
"Shh, be quiet," he ordered in a hushed tone making me glower at him. "We were kidnapped last night from the police station. They left a few minutes ago. I can get us out but you need to keep quiet."
I looked around realizing that it was a basement with a lot of glass and picture frames in large boxes. I suddenly began panicking when it finally dawned on me and the memories of the night.
"Hey, hey. Don't start panicking now. I need you to calm down. I can get us out. If they come back, pretend you're still unconscious. This might give us some time," he told me but I barely listened to him.
Who could it be? Why would they do this? Was it the same person who tried to frame me? What were they planning to do with me? With us? What is Detective Storm doing here? Does anyone realize that we are missing? Are they looking for us? What if we die? My baby can't die, not again, it will break us.
I let out a whimper but bit my trembling lips trying to stop myself from crying and I successfully calmed myself after a few deep breaths. He was watching me keenly before he did some weird movement with his hands and pulled himself up on the rope.
I was amazed at how easily he climbed up the rope and untied the other end that was tied to the ceiling. Suddenly the door flew open and I quickly looked away so the person wouldn't know where Storm had gone.
A big man stepped in with a deep frown of his face and a gun. "Where's the other one?" he asked me angrily.
"What?" I whimpered softly and began crying for extra distraction. "Please just let me out. I didn't do anything," I cried. The man came to stand right before me ready to slap me when Storm dropped from the ceiling behind him.
I flinched when he twisted the man's neck making it break and he fell to the ground lifeless. Storm took up the gun and quickly untied me and I fell to the ground feeling my body ache from hanging so long.
"Can you walk?" he asked me and I nodded. He grabbed my forearm beginning to pull me towards the door in which the man came from. When we were almost out of the basement, I gasped in the realization that this was Archer's old house.
What the fuck?! Is this some sort of prank or joke?
"I know this place," I said out loud.
"Good then you can get us out before they see us," he said just as man turned the corner towards us. Storm had no choice but to shoot him and that surely caused anyone else that was there to get alarmed.
We broke into a run towards the backyard realizing that it looked like late in the morning. A few seconds later, I was running out of breath when we entered the woodland behind the house with multiple people running behind us.
"Who are these people?" I breathlessly said trying to keep up with him stepping onto twigs and mud puddles.
"They look like thugs as far as I know. We need to get far away from them," he added but I tripped and fell hard on the ground feeling dizzy.
I’m sure my body was filled with scrapes from the sharps stones and broken branches I fell on. My thoughts immediately went to my baby and I felt a rush of fear pass through me. Please let the baby be okay, please. "Hey get up."
"My baby," I whimpered as he scooped me up bridal style and continued running. At the moment, I was very grateful that he was this athletic.
He ran effortlessly for a while before he then slid down what seemed to be a ditch and he pushed me against the side of it placing his hand over my mouth.
I heard a couple of feet stomped by and a couple of minutes later, he slowly looked up to the top but no one was there. He threw the gun up and climbed up to the top turning to pull me up and I was about to take his hand when a shadow came over us.
I screamed when the man used the butt of the gun to hit him in the head and he went out cold. "No!" I screamed when the man pointed the gun at me.
"Max!" a familiar voice called and the man turned around. "Take her to me."
The man reached down and grabbed me by my hair pulling me out of the ditch. I froze when I saw them smiling at me. "You," I seethed angrily.
"Yes me, Debbie. Expecting anyone else?"
"I knew you were trouble from the start. That's why we could never be friends a-"
"Oh shut up, I got over that the moment I saw Archer. I fucking loved that man and the day I plan on confessing, you just fucking blew it. Just like you did with Aaron but I’m fucking done, playing the fucking nice guy."
"You would have been better off being that because what are you planning to do after this huh? Run for the rest of your life?"
"Not exactly, I have a whole new fucking identity waiting for me in the Caribbean. Somewhere they won’t expect me to be, living life like a Jamaican or maybe even a Puerto Rican, I don't know. But I wanted to torture you before I left. Take a foot, hand, or maybe lung."
"You sick bitch," I sneered ready to attack her. I rammed my heel into the man's knee making him step back. He tripped over Storm’s unconscious body and fell over in the ditch landing on his head. I heard a disgusting snap and I knew he broke his neck. My eyes went to the gun that fell from the man's hand and dropped between me and Corabella so we raced for it.
Unfortunately, she got it first and pointed it to me. "Goodbye Debbie," she said before she pulled the trigger but I jumped to the side thankfully and surprisingly dodging the bullet.
Then she pulled it again and it hit me.
