Everywhere was dark. All I could see was helicopters shining their light over Erik. Cop cars surrounded him as they got out yelling for him to drop his weapon. It felt like I was being held but there was no one holding me. I tried calling out to him but the sound was blurred out. They swarmed him and pinned him on the ground roughly while handcuffing him. As they was dragging him to the cop cars, I heard a bullet go off.

I jumped out of my sleep, dripping in sweat. Erik was asleep next to me. I rubbed my face and got off the bed. I went downstairs and got myself a bottled water out the fridge. I sat on the couch trying to not over think but that dream shook me. I sighed and watched some tv until I fell asleep on the couch.

The brightness peeked through the curtains. I was awaken fully by a loud knock on the door. As I was about to get up, I saw Erik walking down the steps. He told me to lay down. I was confused as he answered the door.

"Where is Jill, Erik?" I heard the person say.

"She's asleep. How can I help you Monique?" He replied. My eyes widened as I laid on the couch.

"I need to see her! So wake her ass up!" She yelled. I got off the chair.

"Look I'll tell her you were here-" I rested my hand on his shoulder.

"It's ok babe," I said as he went to the side. As I got into Monique's view, she hugged me. "I've been so worried about you," she whispered in my ear. I groaned a bit in pain since the hug was tight. "Oh I'm sorry," she apologized. I led her in giving Erik the eye that it was ok. I led her out back. "What on earth is going on?! First you get injured now Kelly and her baby taking an emergency trip?" Monique asked. I crinkled my eyebrows together. I looked back at the house where Erik was pretending to be busy and spying on us at the same time. "What you mean Kelly and her kid took an emergency trip?" I asked pretending to be concerned. She shrugged her shoulders. "All she said was that it wasn't safe so I don't know," Monique informed. I nodded. "What happened Jill?" She asked. I shrugged.

"House robbery. Was going to answer the door and I didn't check the intercom and the person pushed the door open and stabbed me in the back as I was trying to get the gun in the gun compartment under the table and the person dragged me to the kitchen and stole whatever they had to but I was trying to get up while they were busy stealing and they ended up shooting me and left me there. Thank god Erik came in time or else I would of probably bled out to death," I lied kind of. She huffed.

"This is terrible Jill. Nothing I say will change your mind about him and I'm not gonna even go there right now. I'm just happy you're alive," she said rubbing my arm. Monique stayed for breakfast and caught me up on speed with whatever was going on in the friendship.

After she left, I found Erik in the game room playing pool by himself. I leaned on the door frame. "So Kelly and her kid flew out on an emergency trip...said it wasn't safe."

He hummed as he concentrated on aiming the ball. I stood next to the table with my arms folded.

"I'll handle everything ok?" He said as he took his shot.
