4. The Lover Boys

Department of Pediatrics
OPD Room

After we brought Mrs. Hwang back to her ward, we left for our department duties. It was a Tuesday morning, which is usually as busy as a Monday morning.

And I had not eaten my breakfast yet.

Usual postgrad behaviour.

"I'm prescribing only 2 syrups, give them twice a day after meals for 5 days. She'll start feeling better soon" I explained the medication to my patient's mother while writing it on the slip.

"Thankyou doctor."

"I'm sorry to disturb you sir, but I need your help" I heard a sophomore's voice from the door.

"What happened?" I asked, still focused on the digital entry of my patient's data.

"We've a highly unco-operative patient there and I need some help with the examination part-"

"You'll be sitting at our place in a couple of months. Then, who are you gonna ask for help for such trivial matters?" One of my batchmates scolded the junior while she was busy with her patient work.

"I'm extremely sorry mam and sir. Please help me just this time" he bowed to apologise.

"Yoonchae, I'll be back in a moment. If there are more patients, make them wait until I return."

"Yeah, and then get shouted at by the professors. Pretty fair, Jungkook" Yoonchae scowled at me as I left the room with the junior behind me.

As I entered the examination room, there was a screaming toddler on the stretcher, throwing his arms and legs everywhere around.

This is gonna be a long day.

Time skip
Hospital cafe

Taehyung and I were sitting across from each other at our hospital cafe to have some food. I shoved the first spoon of rice in my mouth and a satisfactory moan left my lips.

"Are you really enjoying this so much?" Taehyung laughed at me for having such a dramatic reaction over rice.

"It's foodgasm" I said mindlessly, then stuffing my mouth with a whole piece of menbosha.

I added while chewing my food, "Seems like you've forgotten your postgrad time, you oldie."

Taehyung giggled as he replied, "Yeah, and now when I look at you working so hard and diligently, I am reminded of my days again."

With one spoon full of mapo tofu in my hand, I looked at Taehyung's adorable eyes fixated on me. His eyes carried pure love and adoration for me. And then, unknowingly, I lifted my spoon way too high up to my nostrils.

"Jungkook!" Tae panicked and got up from his seat to grab the spoon from my hand. It got me out of my trance.

"Be careful" he said softly as he placed the spoon on the side. The he wiped my nose with a tissue paper quickly.

"I'll grab another one for you."

I nodded like an imbecile. My cheeks turned red as I came into my senses.
