Clinic
Jungkook pov
After parking the car, I went inside the clinic with Jungsun in my arms, clinging to my shirt like his life depended on it. There were no patients left in the waiting area, which made me feel a bit better because checking my baby was going to take considerable time.
"Dada hurts..." He whimpered in my chest, his hold on my shirt getting tighter with every step I took towards the Taehyung's cabin.
"Baby~ everything's gonna be okay! I got you, love" kissing his warm forehead, I spoke to him softly, patting his back to comfort him.
Without thinking much, I bashed into hyung's cabin only to see him writing the prescription of a toddler that was sitting beside him on the stool along with her mother. The way I entered without a knock startled everyone inside, so I quickly bowed to apologise and looked straight at Taehyung with the helpless eyes of a dad.
"Kook, lie him on the table" he said, scribbling faster than before. He explained it to the lady and sent them off.
Jungsun cried as I let him down on the table, gripping my clothes tightly as he didn't wanna let go.
"Dada, up!"
"Alright, alright, no crying, bun. Dada's here" Immediately, I picked him up in my arms and sat on the table myself, bouncing him lightly while whispering sweet nothings in my baby's ear.
"Jungsun-ie is the best boy, yes? Dada and uncle are gonna take away all your pain" I was cradling him in my arms when Taehyung came near us, then sitting on the stool to face us directly.
Ruffling Jungsun's hair, he said in a babyish tone, "Aw, my baby. Look at uncle. Tell me what happened. What's making my baby cry so much?"
It was one of those rare times when Taehyung was giving a checkup to Jungsun. After his discharge from SNU, I changed his doctor to one of my most trusted colleagues in the hospital where I used to work before joining the clinic with Taehyung.
Jungsun only liked the previous doctor till the day he received a vaccine. The doctor tried his best to distract the boy, but Jungsun had always been sensitive to slightest pain, hence none of his tactics worked on him. That day onwards, my baby was terrified to go to the hospital, thinking something painful would happen to him.
At that moment, as much as I wanted Jungsun to not be afraid of Taehyung, I knew the kid had high chances of receiving a shot or two just by looking at his symptoms and the intensity.
Taehyung's soft and reassuring sentences made Jungsun finally look at him, eyes swollen and cheeks pink due to crying so much. I settled him carefully on my lap so that he could look at Taehyung comfortably.
My legs never stopped bouncing him to provide comfort while I wrapped one of my arms protectively around his tummy, as a way of grounding my distressed boy.
Hiccuping, Jungsun whimpered, "Tummy feels funny. Hurt lots!"
Taehyung cupped his tiny face lovingly, wiping off the tears as he said, "Oh my baby, can you tell uncle where it hurts?"
"Here" he pointed right in the middle of his belly.
"Let me see what's bothering my little bun so much" Taehyung cooed, lifting his t-shirt just enough to check his abdomen. Without putting much pressure, he palpated the other quadrants gently and asked, "Does it hurt, bun?"
