   Y/N'S POV

Another long day at school. Another long day that I could've spent at home sleeping or catching up on all the movies that I hadn't seen yet. However, I was getting the sense that Justin's day so far had been much worse than my own.
Justin hadn't said a word since we first left the school. Normally, I was good at guessing what could have been bothering him, but I didn't know about this time. I said this because he would have said something by now. He always did.

I just took his bookbag from him before I put it down beside my bookbag.

Then, I asked him,"Justin, do you want to watch something on tv?"

Justin just nodded, and I sat down on the sofa. Justin sat down beside me, but he didn't smile. He didn't try to make me laugh. He didn't even blink when I waved my hand in front of his face. Justin just sat there.

  I grew worried, so I asked him,"Justin, what's wrong?"

He looked over at me then sighed before he told me,"I failed my test, Y/N. I didn't pass, so I have to take it again."

I said,"Oh, well, at least you get to take it again. I can help you study. I don't have too much work to do this weekend."

Justin shook his head before he said,"I don't get it, Y/N. I don't get it. I was so sure that I had answered everything correctly. I don't know what happened."

I went to rest my hand on his shoulder, but he said,"I'm hungry. I'm going to get a snack. You want anything from the kitchen?"

I shook my head, then I answered,"No, I'm good. Thanks, though, Justin."

Justin got up and shortly returned with a snack. However, I heard footsteps before I turned to see Mom and Dad heading towards Justin and me. Of course, they were angry. Of course, Justin's teacher snitched on him and immediately told Mom and Dad about his grade. Why wouldn't she tell them?

I immediately reached for Justin's hand, but Dad slapped Justin across the face before he began to yell at him.

Dad yelled,"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? WHY DID YOU FAIL YOUR TEST? HOW DO YOU FAIL A STATISTICS TEST? HUH? WE EXPECTED MORE FROM YOU, JUSTIN! WE'RE DISAPPOINTED IN YOU! YOU'RE SPENDING TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR MUSIC AND NOT ENOUGH ON YOUR SCHOOLWORK! NO MORE MUSIC UNTIL EVERY GRADE THAT YOU MAKE IS AN A!"

Justin's eyes filled with tears, and he looked at Mom.

Mom just shook her head before she said,"Your father's right. I'm sorry, Justin. It's the only way that I see your grades getting any better."

Justin rushed up the stairs and into his bedroom.

Dad looked over at me as he said,"Don't go in there comforting him. He needs to learn how to get through things on his own. When he's out there, he'll have to get through bigger things on his own."

Mom and Dad just walked back to their room. I became angry, but I quickly rushed up to Justin's bedroom. I heard him crying on the other side of his bedroom door, almost doing what Dad told me to do. However, I couldn't.
I had to comfort Justin. He was my brother, and he needed me. Justin always comforted me whenever I had gotten myself into trouble, so I could do the same for him. I thought that the door was locked, but it was unlocked.

I smiled, slowly opening the door. Justin tensed, but he turned before he noticed that it was just me.

Justin sniffed before he said,"I left the door unlocked. I knew you'd check on me."

I said,"Thank you for leaving the door unlocked, Justin. Always count on me to come check on you."

I rushed over to Justin's side as I hugged him. He broke down, and I only hugged him tighter.

I said,"Justin, don't cry. Please. It's just one grade. You'll have plenty of grades after to make this one look like nothing. It's not the end of the school year yet, Justin. Don't give up. You're strong, smart, and you're passionate about everything that you do. School is one of those things. You'll continue to make A's. I know that you will. Don't forget that you have a second chance at this test. Just study even harder this time. You'll be all right. I've always been proud of you, and I still look up to you. Don't let this one disappointment determine how the rest of your year is going to go. You keep working on your music. You have an amazing voice, and I'm sure that you'll get to share your music with anyone who'll listen to you. I'll listen to you."

Justin let me continue to hug him, and I wiped his tears as he said to me,"Thank you, Y/N, for comforting me. I don't know what I'd do without you. I have more songs if you want to hear them?"

I chuckled before I said,"You're welcome, Justin. I don't know what I'd do without my big brother. I'd love to hear your songs, but Mom and Dad are coming."

Mom and Dad walked into Justin's room, and Mom said,"Justin, honey, can we talk to you for a minute?"

Justin nodded, and Mom said,"We're so sorry, Justin. Your music is important to you, and we understand that. We do. We just want you to succeed in your schoolwork. Can you forgive us?"

  Justin said,"I forgive you. It's okay. I won't fail a test again."

Dad said,"We know that you won't, Justin. I'm sorry for what I said to you. You can keep working on your music. You can, but we're not disappointed in you. We were just upset about the grade that you made, but we're willing to do whatever we can to help you if you're struggling. We love you, Justin. We really do."

Justin smiled as he said,"Thanks, Dad. I forgive you, and I'll let you both know if I need extra help. I love you both, too."

I stopped hugging Justin, so Mom and Dad could hug him. However, Justin pulled me into the family hug. He smiled at me before I smiled back at him.
