Nico POV

I sat in the back corner in math class and sadly no one was absent, meaning the seat next to me was not empty.

"Hey Nico," Percy greeted me when Mr. Mo began his lesson.

I gave Percy the finger before plucking in my air pods.

I already knew everything we were learning in math class this year because I chose to go to summer school.

I unzipped my black backpack and pulled out my sketchbook.

I took my pencil and began writing lines and marks to formulate the image of a particular blonde.

The eyes were difficult to draw because of all the detail in them. I had to do specific shading to show that there were many different types of blues in his eyes. I was using only a grey pencil, so it was problematic. But in the end, I managed to replicate his gorgeous eyes.

Once I had finished the eyes, I established detail in the remainder of Will's face by adding freckles. I ensured that the freckles I added were not in random spots, but in the precise locations as they are on his authentic face.

After adding in all the detail, I pulled out my air pods to enable full focus as I examined my drawing.

I wished I had the real Will with me now, but for the moment, the sketch would have to do.

I hadn't realized I was being watched until I looked at Percy. He was eying the paper curiously. He had a glint of emotion in his eyes. I couldn't tell what it was, but it had something to do with hatred.

Not wanting him to examine the sketch further, I slammed the book shut and stuffed it into my bag.

After a few more classes, it was finally lunch. I always loved lunch because no one talked to me, meaning I didn't have to socialize. I don't know how people deal with having friends. It's so exhausting.

I got my usual one apple and sat at my corner table in the back.

"Nico! Come sit with us!" Will called over from his table which was on the other side of the cafeteria.

Since he had to yell from the opposite direction of the room, the attention of every person in the cafeteria turned to Will and me.

I shook my head at Will's request and he just gave me a pleading expression.

"I don't want anyone to know that we're kinda sorta dating so I'm gonna just sit here, " I shouted across the room in Greek.

Everyone seemed pretty surprised by my language switch.

"What'd he say?" Piper asked.
Murmurs of "I don't know" erupted in the room.

Will gave me a look of understanding and went back to chatting amongst his "friends".

Thankfully, everyone lost interest and continued their lunches.

I walked out of my last class of the day, which was history. Percy caught up with me in the halls.

"Hey, wanna hang out today?"

"Umm, why?" I asked confused.

"I wanna become your friend."

"Why?"

"Because I wanna get closer to you."

"Why?"

"You seem fun to hang out with."

I eyed him carefully before replying, "fine."

Hazel would be proud of me if I made a new friend and I wanted to make it up to her for staying at Will's unannounced.

Percy was beaming at my answer. "What do you wanna do?"

"You're the one that invited me to hang out so I assumed you had an idea."

"Let's go-- bowling!" he suggested. The halls were now empty.

"Okay, I guess. I'll go see if Will wants to come."

The same emotion as before filled Percy's eyes. "Well, I was thinking that maybe we could go alone to umm-- get to know each other more."

I just nodded my head before running to Hazel's car. "Hey, I'm gonna go hang out with Percy so you don't have to drive me home."

Hazel eyed me carefully. "Percy? The guy you always talk about and tell me how much you hate him?"

"Yeah, that guy. You always want me to make new friends, so I started with Percy."

"Okay, but don't get into any trouble," Hazel demanded before I ran off to where Percy was last.

We hopped onto his red convertible Mustang and Percy began driving to the nearest bowling alley.

I felt a buzz go off in my pocket and took out my phone.

☀️My Sunshine☀️: Do u wanna hang out 2day

Me: I would, but I'm going bowling with Percy so I can't today. Maybe tomorrow or if I don't have much homework, tonight.

☀️My Sunshine☀️: Ok np

"Who were you texting on the way over?" Percy asked as we entered the bowling alley.

"That's for me to know and you to wonder."

Okay, so that's it for this chapter. I started reading Harry Potter and OMG I stayed up until 5 am reading and it's a school day, so I'm really tired, but the book is just so good. I put off reading Harry Potter for so long because everyone's read it and I already knew the entire plotline of the series from the movies. But it's so worth it to read. Have a good day!

Q: Who is your favorite character in the Percy Jackson universe.

A: Nico because he went through so much alone and he's treated badly for being Hades's son. But even though he went through so much, he came out so strong in the end.
