I know practically nothing about bowling, so I'm just gonna apologize in advance-- there's gonna be a lot of wrong information about the sport.Percy POV
Nico and I told the worker our shoe sizes and he gave us two pairs of bowling shoes.
"Bumpers or no bumpers?" I asked Nico.
"No bumpers."
After we got settled in at a lane, I bowled my first ball.
"How?!" Nico shouted once my ball knocked down all the pins.
STRIKE, the screen read.
I smiled before letting another ball out of my hands. Strike, the screen read again.
"Are you like a professional or something?" Nico asked before grabbing a six-pound ball.
I could already tell that his bowl would not be good by his position. Nico tried to roll it across the alley, but the ball ended up slipping and dropping out of Nico's hands. It gradually made its way into the left gutter.
"Well, I absolutely suck at this!" He shouted, gaining weird looks from neighboring lanes. I took his poor bowling skills as an opportunity.
Nico again grabbed the lightest ball and positioned himself.
"Here. Let me help you," I suggested while placing my hands on his arm and waist to help guide the ball.
"Don't touch me!" he shouted and shoved me to the floor.
"Jeez, I just wanted to help you."
"Well, help me verbally not physically!" he spat.
"Whatever."
Nico again let the ball go and this time it didn't go into the left gutter.......it went in the right gutter.
I got a spare on my second turn.
We finished the game with Nico having 14 points and me having 194 points.
"Let's get pizza at the restaurant!" I suggested.
"I wanna go to McDonald's though."
I pondered on the thought for a moment. Maybe if I bring him to McDonald's, I can get closer to him because I'm doing what he wants.
"Okay. Let's go to McDonald's," I agreed with a smile.
Nico seemed surprised by my answer, but his shocked face soon turned into joy.
"Yay!" he responded before rushing out of the bowling alley and sprinting to my car.
He is so childish and cute.
I really wanted to spend more time with Nico to get him away from that annoying blue-eyed freckled blonde. They don't know this, but I speak Greek and I eavesdropped on their short conversation back at the cafeteria. I can't believe that Nico would go out with that Solace. Nico was mine and Will would just have to figure that out.
-------
"I would like a happy meal please," Nico told the worker once it was our turn to order.
"And I'll have five Big Macs with two large fries," I ordered.
After a few minutes, I grabbed all the food and we sat down at a booth with me on one side and Nico on the other.
"How do you eat so much!?" he asked once I consumed my first burger.
I just shrugged in response.
Nico began eating his first chicken nugget. His eyes wandered around the room until they landed on something.
I turned around to see what Nico was looking at and I soon discovered that it was Will Solace.
"Will! Come sit with us!" Nico yelled to him.
Not knowing where the voice was coming from, the blonde searched the room but finally spotted us at the booth.
He walked over with a girl trailing behind him. The girl looked about eleven or twelve.
"Hey Nico," Will greeted him with a big smile before sitting down on his side.
"Umm aren't you gonna say hi to me?" I asked.
Will eyed me carefully, his eyes full of hatred.
"So, this is Kayla, my twelve-year-old sister," Will introduced her, ignoring my question.
"So this is Nico?!" she exclaimed. "He's pretty hot--actually, no, not hot. He's cute just like you said, Willy.
Nico's face flushed a crimson red.
"Kayla!" Will scolded.
"Just saying," she responded.
"So what did you guys go do?" Will asked.
"We went bowling and it was really fun! Right, Nico?" I answered. Nico seemed confused by my sudden enthusiasm.
"Well, Nico and I also have a lot of fun together as well. Remember that time we watched that movie? It was really good!" Will said.
"Oh did I mention that I bought Nico's happy meal?" I smirked.
"Nico and I got partnered up for the English project so fate brought us together."
"Well, I've known Nico personally since I was eight, so umm yeah," I fired back.
"What is going on?" the little girl interrupted.
"Not a clue," Nico answered. "All I know is that I'm done eating and want to go."
"I can take you home!" Will and I yelled in unison.
"No, I can take him home," I said.
"I'll go home with Will," Nico decided.
My jaw dropped and Will had a smirk plastered on his face.
Nico, the blonde, and the little girl left with only Nico saying bye. This wasn't over. By the end of junior year, Nico would be mine and that stupid son of a bitch blonde would be out of the picture, I hoped. (Sadly, my wish never came true)
---------
"Good night sweetie," My mom said. Right when the door closed, I whipped out my phone from under my pillow.
Me: Can we talk?
Wise girl: Sure, what's up.
Me: We need to break up. This just isn't working anymore.
Wise girl: Are you seriously doing this over text!!!???
Me: It just isn't working. Good night.
I set my phone on my bedside table and laid down on my bed. I heard about fifty more buzzes before I finally drifted off to sleep.
Okay, that's it for this chapter. I hoped you liked it. I added in the whole Percy thing just to spice up the story a bit. Please vote!!
