"Amber, I don't think it's a good idea.... me and heights don't get along.."
I said to my fiery girlfriend. She wanted me to learn gliding and thought it would be a fun little date. She also wanted to give me a little push out my comfort zone, she knew I had a fear of heights and wanted to change that.

"Come on Y/N! It'll be fun!"

"What if I crash and get hurt?"

"Not gonna happen! I'll never put you in a situation where you could get hurt!"

"Fine, if you REALLY want too. I'll go gliding with you.."

"YES! THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU! I PROMISE YOU WONT REGRET A THING!"

"U-uh... Amber? This is a little.. well, high...."

"Oh come on! Don't be scared hon! You'll be fine! You just jump and take control!"

"It's hard to take control when I'm afraid"

"Then Don't be afraid. Like I said, I'll never put you in a situation that you could get hurt. I'll be with you every step of the way!"

"A-alright..."

I grip on to my glider as I take in a big gulp. I look down and feel my knees start to shake.

💭So high💭

I thought. But, my nerves were put to rest when amber put a reassuring hand on my back.

"You got this"

I nodded as amber stared the count down

I grip the handle of the glider

I look forward to the place we're supposed to land

I take a deep breath

I close my eyes

I jumped with amber.

I felt a gush if wind hit my face as I could feel my legs sore off the ground. The breeze felt wonderful as I slowly open my eyes and look at the scenery

"Pretty, huh? See! I knew you could do it!"
Amber said

"Yeah... I guess I can do it..."

Amber guided me on how to go down, I followed her steps and slowly let my feet touch the cold grass below me.

Amber hugged me as she squealed

"Yay! You did it! I'm so proud of you!"

I chuckled and hugged her back

"Heh thanks"

"Wanna go again?"
She asked with sparkles in her eyes

"Sure!"

"Alrighty then! Let's go!"

She grabbed my hand as we ran into mondstat. Amber climbed up on the windmill and told me to just go with the wind. We had to be cautious of where we were gonna land. We didn't wanna crash into a poor passer by, or a cart.

Me and amber jumped off, it was smooth sailing until amber attempted to land but ended up crashing into a food cart.

"Amber!"
I screamed as I slowly went down to see if she was alright

"Are you hurt!?"
I asked worryingly

"Y-yeah, I'm fine! I do it all the time!"

You sweat drop

"Alright, if you say so-"

"COME ON AMBER, THIS IS THE SIXTH TIME THIS WEEK YOU CRASHED INTO MY CART! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MORA IT IS TO REPSIR IT?"
The cart owner scolded

"Y/N, run!"
Amber said as she grabbed my wrist and made a run for it with me stumbling behind.

We finally lost track of the cart owner. We sat down underneath a building to catch our breaths

"So... he said sixth time this week?"
I said as I glared at amber. She never said anything about how she crashed into food carts when we started.

"Hehe... sorry..."
She said, clearly feeling guilty about not telling me about how bad at gliding she was the majority of the time.

"It's alright.. but, why didn't you tell me you crashed 6 times?"

"I didn't want you to be afraid of gliding, you were already afraid of heights, I just wanted to help. If I told you I was crashing every day it could have made your fear worse. I just wanted you to have something in common with me. I love gliding and I just want it to be a you and me thing."

"Amber... thanks for trying to help. And I completely understand that you wanted your hobby to be something we can do together." I gave her a small smile. She smiled back

"Hey Y/N?"

"Yeah amber"

"I love you ☺️"
