Why would you do something like this?... ————༄★༄————
You were gifted with a Pryo vision. The rest of your family for generations has been gifted with cryo. So, when they were told that you were pryo, they looked down on you as a outcast, they didn't even treat you as their child.
You were called names, yelled at, beat shit less. All because you weren't born with a vision they wanted. Every night you would look up at the sky and beg to celestia for a explanation on why she gave you a vision that you're parents didn't want. You even prayed that she would take it away and leave you visionless. But it doesn't work like that ( inazuma says otherwise- )
You never had a comfort buddy until a couple of months ago. You met mondstats famous bard, venti. You would rant to him about how you were gifted a vision that you're parents despised and how you were a burden to them. Venti was always by your side. He was the only friend you had. You called him your only family since you're real family didn't consider you a L/N.
But, sometimes, he was busy. Either tending matters at the tavern, getting overly drunk till he couldn't think straight. Or tend to other matters, as in being mondstats famous bard, telling tales and playing songs in front of the cathedral. You're mind kept telling you that he didn't want you, that you only burden him with your problems.
You started isolating yourself. You're parents kicked you out so you asked Kathryn if you could rent a house. You would lock yourself in your house for days.
The only time you were happy for being gifted with pryo, was when you burned yourself. You knew it was bad. But it was how you coped.
If anyone cared for you they would have knocked on your door. But did that happen? No. In your eyes, you're a burden to the world and deserve to feel the heat come in contact with your soft skin.
You started wearing long sleeved clothing when you went out. You tried to avoid your arms but the rest of your body was covered in burns. So you're arms were the only thing that was untouched.
You filled up one arm already. It hurt to move due to the clothing rubbing against your burns. So you never really went out. You didn't eat, didn't sleep, all you did was overthink and burn.
Venti grew concerned when you didn't come out for weeks. He knew you were isolating yourself and brushed it off for a couple of days, but when it turned into weeks. He became extremely worried.
You were in your room, overthinking once again. 'The other arm won't be so bad to burn right now.' You thought. You were too busy overthinking and preparing your pryo vision that you didn't hear venti call for you and knock on the door.
Ventis POV: ————————
"Y/N? It's me venti. Can I come in?" I say. Y/N didn't respond. "Y/N, I know you're home. You've been isolating yourself for weeks. Please let me come in." I say. I grew inpatient. "Y/N I'll give you the count of 3 to open the door! I-if not, I'm letting myself in!" I stumbled on my sentence. I didn't wanna invade their privacy, but I'm concerned. "1."
"2."
"3!"
I open the door, I walk into Y/Ns room. I looked at Y/N with horror and confusion.
they were on the ground, covered in burns, about to make another mark on themselves.
"Y/N! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" I scream.
They shoot their head in my direction eyes wide eyed as tears stream down my face. I look angry, but not at them. It's more at myself for not knowing sooner.
With no hesitation, I use my anemo power to blow the flame out, then storm over to them.
I grab their cheeks, not to harshly, but just enough to snap them out of this silence trance.
"Y/N! Why would you do such a thing?... WHY WHY WHY!? YOU WERE GIFTED WITH PRYO TO PROTECT YOURSELF, AS A BLESSING. BUT YOU USE IT TO... harm.. y-yourself...." I say in confusion as tears roll down my face. Not long after, they started crying as well. I don't wanna hug them because I'm afraid I'll hurt them. They were only in a tank top and shorts. Burns were everywhere and I'm afraid if I come into contact with them, it'll hurt.
I stroked their cheek and wiped their tears away. "I-im s-s-sorry.. v-venti.." They say in a broken sentence, still choking up sobs. I play with their hair. "Don't be sorry. It's my fault for not noticing. It's okay, I'm here now. I can help you." I say. They grab my hand and put it on their head. My heart melts and I start rubbing their head comfortingly as tears continue to spill.
How can such a beautiful person, break to this low? How can people, be so cruel just because of a vision? Why would they decide to break them? Why would they do this to them? Who does this to their child? These thoughts swarm my head.
After a couple of minutes, Y/N calms down. I get up and hold out my hand. They grab it and I pull them up. "Come on Y/N, lets get you to Barbra. She can heal the burns." I say softly, trying not to raise my voice. Even if they calmed down, they could still be vulnerable.
I see their face in discomfort as they put on a long sleeve shirt. I try to cool them off with anemo which helps slightly.
We walked to the cathedral, me still using anemo to cool Y/Ns skin as the cloth rubs against the burns. Barbra was shocked on how much burns were on them. She even said even Bennett doesn't get that much. But she doesn't hesitate on cooling them off, then healing them. They grabbed my hand tightly the whole time.
After we were done, Barbra gave us a potion to cool off the burns it they start acting up again.
We head back to Y/N's house. We sit on the couch and put on a show. I scootch closer to them and put their head on my chest. They start blushing. "V-venti? What are you doing?" They said. I didn't respond and kissed their forehead. "If you're going through something, come to me. Even if I'm busy, I'll always be there to help you. You never need to do that. I love you so much Y/N and I don't want to see you in pain mentally or physically." I say, slightly blushing myself. It was a confession after all.
I could see Y/N getting even more pink. "I-I love you too venti." They say. I smile and kiss their head again. They smile as well.
