You were 3 when your auntie died. Your father and your auntie were close since they were kids. She was there for you and him when you're mother died of cancer.
After your auntie passed away, your father became a new drunkard of mondstat. He took you to angels share during his breakdowns. The tavern owner didn't feel comfortable with a very young kid being in the tavern around drunk people. So he told your father to find a sitter until you were old enough to take care of yourself on your own.
Your father, being as stubborn and ignorant as he is, tried lying about your age and trying to convince the red head to let him drink while you sat in the corner. Diluc could clearly tell that you weren't the age your father said you were, so he kicked your father out. Your father would blame you for his miserable life, he would blame you for keeping him from drinking, he blamed you for your aunties death.
Every afternoon to night he always tried to go in with you so he could drink his life away. One day, venti had just arrived, taking notice of the scene of diluc saying that your father couldn't stay in the tavern because of you. Venti went up and said he'll supervise you and not drink a single wine glass until you and your father left. Diluc was uneasy, but agreed. Your father was overjoyed and handed you right to Venti, blurting out 'thank you's' and 'it's been a tough week'.
Venti ADORED you. He sang you songs, and you only being 4, loved it. He played patty cake, peek a boo, anything that made you happy. This went on for a couple of weeks. Each time you came to the tavern with your father, venti was always there waiting with something new to do as your dad drank away. It's like you kept venti from drinking his own life away which diluc was surprised to see.
But, your father took notice of this after a year. Every time you both entered the tavern, you ran right up to venti and hugged him. He would twirl you around and played with you. Anger and jealousy came over your father.
When you got home, you're father would take of his belt and beat the shit outa you. "WHY DONT YOU TREAT ME LIKE THAT INSTEAD OF GIVING ME A BUNCH OF SHIT" He says "YOUR THE REASON IM LIKE THIS" He says.
You hated it. You stopped running to venti. He of course noticed. You were distancing yourself from him, when he went up to you, you had the look of fear across your face and hid behind your fathers leg.
Your father still made remarks, but he didn't hit you. You figured out a pattern. Talk to venti = you get beat up Don't talk to venti = no more angry dad. So you continued to distance yourself.

When you turned 6 your father sent you out to do errands. You were going to blanch's shop to get produce when venti came up to you. "Hey there lil dandelion! What's up with you? You've been ignoring me." He said kneeling down to your height. You still had a look of discomfort across your face.

Venti took note of this. He knew something was wrong. "You wanna talk somewhere private?" He said. You nodded.
Venti took your small hand as you slightly flinched, remembering how your father would grab your arm or your hand and drag you like a rag doll when he was angry.
Venti noticed this too, but didn't say anything so he didn't draw attention. He would ask you when you got to windrise.

Once you got to windrise, venti went up to Vanessa's tree and sat down on one of the roots. "So, what's up Y/N?" He asked you.
You started feeling the pressure, you could tell him now, by what's stopping you? You started crying. Venti quickly took action and started calming you down. "Hey hey! Lil dandelion, it's alright. What's wrong?" He asked in a hushed tone. "I-its daddy!" You sobbed out. "Is he hurt?" You shook your head 'no' "Did he hurt you? Is that why you flinched earlier?" You nodded your head. Venti felt guilt, sadness, anger, confusion. A big batch of thoughts came in his head like a strong breeze. "How did he hurt you?" Venti asked, rubbing your arm. "H-he called me a mistake a-and bad w-words" You said, still crying. "Did he physically hurt you?" Venti asked, worried for what this nuisance of a man had done to your mental health. You nodded your head. "Can you show me the marks if they're still there?" Venti asked. You pull up your other sleeve to reveal bruises and scratches. He knew that there was a statue of the seven that he could heal you with, but he wanted to wait till you're dad was in trial so he could use the marks as proof that your father did such things.
Venti picked your light form up and went off to jeans office to report a child abuse case. Knowing jean and the marks on your arms, your father would be locked up in an instant.

Knock knock knock "Master jean?" Venti said. Jean could recognize the bards voice. "Come in venti"
He walked in, jean was surprised to see venti holding you, but she instantly got a bad feeling. "I need to report a child abuse case. Y/N's father has been hitting her and mentally abusing her. I have proof from Y/N's words and the marks." Jean immediately gets up and looks at the marks. She was furious that such a young kid had gone through so much. She would question you after you've calmed down, but for now she was gonna send you off with noelle and Barbara, then question venti and diluc on what they know.
Venti told jean everything that you told him, jean wrote it down then got kaeya to get diluc since he was the closest to him.
Of course, when diluc came, he was pissed. Probably because kaeya said shit to him on the way there.
Jean questioned diluc on incidents with your father in the tavern. He said he overheard your father talking about how he beat the shit outa you the other day and was gonna talk to jean about it soon but now he's getting questioned.
She thanked diluc and got the knights to go to your house and get your dad into questioning.
He denied EVERYTHING. But jean already gave the proof she was given, and everything added up that he abused you.
When he was cornered, he confessed but tried to guilt trip his way out of it. But to jeans wits, she caught up on his tactics and had none of it. Your father was sent to jail in inazuma so he wouldn't interfere with you anymore.
Now the only problem was who was gonna take care of you from now on. Venti of corse volunteered to take care of you from now on. Diluc agreed, saying he haven't drank a single glass of wine since he promised to babysit you in the tavern. Jean was thinking about it for a couple of days and kept you in the cathedral, observing venti take care of you in the building.
Earning jeans trust, you were officially adopted by venti and are now under his wing. Venti was very patient with you and took it one step at a time, reassuring you every mental breakdown that your safe and nothing will harm you.
