Y/N's POV

"Where are you taking me?" I asked for the hundredth time.

"It's a secret" the same answer.

"Why does it have to be a secret?!"

"First dates are meant to be a surprise. No, all dates are meant to be a surprise I guess. Anyway you'll see it in a few. It's not like you'd never come to know"

"Fine. But please know that I'm dying out of curiosity" he chuckled and shook his head.

"An Arcade?! Seriously Jungkook?!"

"What's wrong in an arcade? We both love it and I wanted our date to be different from the other cliche dates" he grinned.

"Yeah right. Loosing everything to you would be the most amazing thing on our first date!"

"You won't be loosing your everything to me" I furrowed my eyebrows

"Like what won't I be loosing?"

"Um like your money and your.... V card?"
I smacked his arm. "Yah!" Then he dragged me inside. " Let's go!"

"Now which second place are you taking me to after destroying my will to live in all the games?"

He chuckled. "You'll see" I rolled my eyes.

The car stopped Infront of a black gate and I immediately recognised it. The neighborhood looked familiar too.

I was so shocked that I literally forgot about Jungkook sitting next to me. My mind was just focused on the place he had brought me to.

My parents' house

All my childhood memories came rushing back. The memories of my dad which I kept on pushing to the back of my mind had all resurfaced.

Memories of my family. The happiness and the loss. In the very moment I realized that I had started to grieve for my dad again.

I hadn't visited this place in years. Ever since my mom got married to someone else. I felt like my wounds were reopened.

I had agreed with Jungkook to give them a chance but this felt very fast and I could almost feel tears brimming in my eyes.

"W-why are we here?"

"It's time, that you meet them. We're having dinner with them tonight"

"W-what? N-no! I can't do this!"

He sighed. "You can. C'mon. Let's go"

He got out of the car and opened my side of the door. "C'mon. Step out" he held out a hand.

My hands were shaking and I grabbed his for support. I got out and looked at the two-storeyed house. I sighed and looked at Jungkook.

He was giving me an encouraging smile. I tightened my grip on his hand and started walking towards the door.

He rang the bell and I grew even more anxious.

As soon as mom saw me after opening the door, she embraced me tightly.

"Y/n! Oh my god. Thank you for coming!" I looked behind her and I could see my step dad standing.

"Your friend called and I invited you two to come over and have dinner with us. Is he the one?"

I walked in hand in hand with Jungkook making sure that my step dad sees it. "First of all he's my boyfriend and not just a friend-" with the Jungkook's eyes lit up and he started smiling like anything.

"B-but he sai-" "and second, yeah he's the one who probably called you cause he's the one who's standing next to me?"

Jungkook held my hand tightly signalling me to stop. I sighed. My step dad came forward.

"At least come in and sit y/n, do you wanna stay there at the door and fight for your boyfriend's rights?" Jungkook chuckled and I glared at him.

"It's not like I wanted to come, he made me." I rolled my eyes and Jungkook whispered in my ear. "C'mon, let's go in"

"Fine"

We all sat together at the dining table. My mom served my favourite dishes. I didn't want to admit but they tasted the same. Delicious. I sort of did miss her cooking.

"So Jungkook right?"

"Yes sir" my step dad nodded.

"So tell us about yourself. Are you elder to her? Do you have a job already? are you serious about her?"

Jungkook was about to chuckle but I hit his thigh. He cleared his throat.

"Um I'm the same age as her. We study in the same college. First year. And yes, I'm very serious about her. Always been"
I smiled hearing that although I should be laughing because he's been way too serious about me since forever.

My mom looked up and then scolded my step dad.

"You're asking the wrong person! Y/n, you tell me, are you serious about him?" Jungkook couldn't control his laugh at this so he did and I glared at him.

"O-of course I am! What do you even mean by that! I'm Hella serious! Don't you know me?!"

"I know you honey that's why I'm asking"
I just blinked at her in disbelief.

By the end of the dinner the silence felt a little less uncomfortable. My step dad broke the silence.

"So wanna hear a joke?" He said smiling.

I looked up at him "everything about you is joke" by now all eyes were on me and not even seconds later all of them burst into laughter including me.

"Wait I'm serious, I actually have an amazing joke!" We laughed again.

"Yeah yeah right, I know you have a lot of jokes" then he cutely glared at me.

And in the moment I had forgotten that this was the same man I had detested for years. Laughing I looked at my mom, she was laughing too. I missed it. I had forgotten everything that she did to me too.

Lastly, I looked at my precious bunny. He was laughing cutely. In this moment, I felt happy. For the first time in years. I felt like I had a family

In the same moment, I had decided that I want to give them more such chances to prove themselves of being worthy to stay in my life.

After all the amazing talks that we shared, I finally got up with Jungkook to leave.

"I wish you could stay longer"

"I'll try next time, mom" I said smiling. Her smile widened after hearing that.

She hugged me, then Jungkook, then walked out with him. I looked at my step dad. He walked up to me.

"Thank you for coming y/n. Thank you for giving us a chance. I promise I'll prove myself worthy of it." I said nothing, just smiled.

He started getting nervous and looked down. I grinned and pulled him in a hug.

"See you next time, dad"

He pulled out of the hug and looked at me with a shocked expression.
"D-did you j-just?" I grinned and walked out pulling him with me.

"What took you so long? I and Jungkook were waiting"

"Nothing" I smiled looking at my dad

"Yeah nothing..." He smiled and looked down.

I got into the car and Jungkook, after saying his final goodbyes got in too. My parents waved at us and he started driving.

We drove back home in silence.

This was the best date ever.
