Hello there! I'm so happy to see you again, and I'm thrilled to say that we've made it to Book 2 of A Queen Among the Jocks. If you're new here and haven't read Book 1, I highly recommend it. You won't want to miss out on the exciting journey of Apol and his teammates.
In this continuation, we'll delve deeper into the lives of Apol and the jocks, including the volleyball quarterbacks who are also his teammates. We'll see them face new challenges and navigate their relationships both on and off the court.
But before we get started, I have to ask: are you Team ElliQueen or TayQueen? It's a tough choice, I know. ElliQueen is fierce and unapologetic, while TayQueen is charming and supportive. Personally, I can't decide, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Now, let's get to Part 1 of Keeping Up with The Jocks and see what's in store for our beloved characters.
✨✨✨
As I said my goodbyes to the coaches of the Balboa Bay Volleyball Club, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness and excitement. It was my first time away from home, and I was determined to make the most of this opportunity. After a few reminders and getting to know the coaches, they left me alone in our boarding house.
As I looked around the unfamiliar space, I felt a little overwhelmed. But I knew I had to start settling in, and the first thing I needed to do was freshen up. I made my way to the bathroom and turned on the shower.
As the water cascaded down my body, I couldn't help but think about my roommate. I hadn't met him yet, but I wanted to make a good impression. I didn't want him to think I was a slob or that I didn't take care of myself. I wanted to show him that I was responsible and could handle living away from home.
I took my time in the shower, making sure to scrub every inch of my body. I wanted to feel clean and refreshed after the long journey to the boarding house. As I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself, I couldn't help but feel proud of myself for taking this step and pursuing my passion for volleyball.
I was listening to Breakup with your girlfriend - by Arianna Grande
Author's Note: you can play the music while reading this part of my story.
As I stood in the shower, I couldn't help but let the music transport me to another world. I sang along with the lyrics like I was at a concert, feeling the adrenaline pumping through my veins. I was beyond excited to have been given the opportunity to play for Balboa Bay Volleyball Club in a national tournament under the 17 roster.
But as the excitement settled in, my mind was plagued with the thought of meeting new teammates. It was terrifying to think about starting all over again. I had a hard time proving myself to my current teammates, and that was with the benefit of having played with them for a while. I knew that discrimination was inevitable here in America, and being gay didn't make it any easier.
However, I knew how to stand up for myself, so I was determined not to let anyone bring me down. But now, as I sat alone in the boarding house, waiting for my teammates to arrive, I couldn't help but feel a little anxious.
