TJ's POV
I can't believe how much I enjoyed jumping on those trampolines today. It was my idea to come here, and as usual, Apol got us into some kind of trouble. But it was worth it, even though I knew I'd never be able to complete that obstacle course in 54 seconds.
As we gathered our things from the locker, I noticed Apol freeze. He was staring at his phone, and I knew something was wrong. When I asked him about it, he told me he had a ton of missed calls from Elliot. I felt a pang of jealousy, but I tried not to show it. I just wanted to be there for Apol and distract him from whatever was bothering him.
The drive home was quiet, but I could sense his anxiety. I placed my hand on his leg, trying to comfort him, but I had to quickly pull it away before I lost control of myself. I didn't want to make things awkward between us.
When we got back to our boardinghouse, Apol went to take a hot bath, and I waited for my turn to shower. As I stepped out of the bathroom in just my boxers, I noticed Apol's gaze shift towards me. Our eyes met, and he quickly looked away. It made me smile. I was glad to know that I still had that effect on him.
Apol said goodnight and went to bed, and I stayed up for a few more minutes, just looking at him. I couldn't help but feel grateful to have him in my life. Eventually, I turned off the lights and went to sleep, feeling content and at peace.

Apol's POV
I woke up to another gloomy morning, feeling down because I still haven't heard from my boyfriend. As I laid there, I couldn't help but feel like this was an issue between us, but I didn't want to dwell on it. I told myself that it doesn't always have to be about me and my boyfriend, and tried to motivate myself to get ready for the day.
As usual, I woke up earlier than TJ, so I decided to take the initiative and prepare some breakfast for us. I cooked bacon and pancakes, washed our dirty laundry, and tidied up a bit since I'm the tidy one. After getting myself ready for practice and freshening up with cold water (which I love because it wakes me up), I heard TJ's reflection holding his towel as I got out of the shower. He always looks adorable, even when he just woke up.
TJ and I dug into the breakfast I prepared, and he complimented my cooking. His last remark about how lucky my boyfriend is made me feel uneasy, but I tried to brush it off and not let it affect me. I paid less attention to my phone and focused on conditioning myself and volleyball drills during practice.
We had a great practice with different players from Balboa, and with TJ on my team, we were unstoppable. I appreciated my volleyball club even more because I was learning a lot from them. After practice, the team decided to watch some beach volleyball tournaments along the beach side of Costa Mesa. TJ and I decided to meet them later, but that was just an alibi. I actually wanted to take a nap since I was exhausted from practice.
I woke up at 7:00 pm and realized that TJ wasn't there. I got up to drink some water and saw a note from him saying that we would watch a beach volleyball tournament that night. He was out buying us dinner. I quickly took a hot bath to soothe my muscles, and when I got out, TJ was preparing our dinner. He got us Thai food, which I haven't had in a while. I loved the Thai chicken poppers he got me and the drink that came with them.
We went to the venue of the beach volleyball tournament, hosted by the city, and the match was intense. I heard that they were players from Longbeach State, so no doubt both teams were really outplaying each other. There were times when they showed power vs power, even if the set was off, the spikes were still powerful.
Beach volleyball is way more difficult than indoor volleyball, to be honest. It is very challenging and definitely exhausting because there are only 2 players, whereas indoor volleyball has 6. Despite the challenges, it was a great match, and the crowd enjoyed the performance of both teams.
Since I had just woken up, I told TJ that I didn't want to go back yet, so we decided to chill by the beach. We found a bar along the coast of California and got a bucket of beer to share. I set up a blanket on the sand, and we sat there and chugged the beer in one go. When I glanced at TJ, he seemed surprised. I teased him and said, "You look flustered. Am I that pretty?" and playfully shoved him.
He replied, "I just remembered something amazing that happened to me," which made me curious. "Care to share?" I asked. He said, "I just remembered how you can take a beer in one go," which made me regret asking. He was talking about the night we hooked up after he asked me to come over to his place. Afterward, I got annoyed for whatever reason and chugged a whole can of beer before leaving his apartment. It was an unnecessary memory
