"Rae. Rae! Raelynn, I need you to come back to me. Something is happening and I need you ba-"

Before I knew it, the man standing before me is taken away from me in the blink of an eye and leaves me by myself, again.

His voice booms through the darkness, calling my name. "Raelynn!"

The sudden outburst is followed by a cry of excruciating pain.

"De-"

With a sudden jolt, I wake up screaming his name, the image still burning in my mind. I am drenched in sweat and my covers and in a bundle encasing me. I hold my head and let a frustrated groan. What is happening to me? I haven't dreamt about him in years, so why now?

I look over to my alarm clock and realize I have a solid 2 hours before reporting to the office. Crawling out of bed, I put on my running gear and head outside to clear my mind. Out of the many things I've learned from my time spent with the two brothers, one which I still go by today. You can't run from your problems because in the end you'll have to face it sooner or later, but you can always sure as hell run to pull some distance before you shoot the son of a bitch.

An hour later I stand in the shower. The warm water rinses down my back and into the drain. My body is in epic soreness from the lack of physical exercise I've had these last few months. I close my eyes as I stand under the soothing water.

"Race ya." He turns to me with a devious smile.

"You are so on!"

"On your mark..." He starts us off.

"Get set..."

"GO!" We finish together.

He has a strong head start, rushing in front of me with about a 5-foot lead. His long legs gracefully accelerate up, despite the fact that he is wearing jeans. He turns his head back with a childish smile on his face. I stick out my tongue and sprint after him. Soon we are neck on neck and the next person that pulls ahead wins. I watch his every move and I can see his bright green eyes looking back at me, and for a second I forget where we are and what we're doing.

~~~
"Rae, you won." He states in his huffing and puffing state.
"What?"
"You finally beat me."
"Hmm? Wait, what?" It takes me a moment's notice to catch up with everything. "Why do you sound so surprised?" I finish with a wink.
"I'm not." He said with a smirk.
Huh? He didn't, did he? No, he wouldn't. Ugh! Of course he did!
"You let me win!" I pouted.
"Nah uh."
"Yeah huh." I cross my arms and turn from him.
"Okay, let's say I did let you win. Why are you mad at me?" He turns me around and holds me by the shoulders.
"Because, technically I didn't win."
"That's not true, you beat me up here."
"Only because you slowed down."
"And you're mad at me for trying to make you happy?" He says with a humorous tone.
"Yup." I pop the 'p'.
"Okay let me get this straight, you're mad at me for beating you every time, and you're also mad at me for letting you win."
