There are four elements that bring forth the world together. Earth, Fire, Water and Air.
One element cannot live without the other. The history of Mellodell, of the gods creating the kingdom to protect the humans from the monsters had four sectors. As for every season, every century, the elements take turns to shine. To remind the lands of Dragons that they are the core to life.
Every century, a new era should be renowned.
Every century, the dragons of the elements rise to show their power, bringing forth catastrophic for the humans. The forth era was arriving soon.
That's what Ellie Wringto had told me anyways. The last era was coming to turn Melledellore upside down and we had to be ready. She also told us that there'd be war if we don't stop it. That was why I got dragging into the dragon world.
Do I believe her?
A little, yes. But it all seemed too confusing.
"Are you ready?" Ellie asked me and I turned away from the open window to find her standing near the door, now gloved hands together. Her black outfit screamed power and I, for no reason, felt proud.
I nodded, not moving from my spot. Ellie walked in, standing next to me just as the warm gush of wind brushed past, making me chuckle. She laughed back.
"What's it like? To control wind?"
Ellie shrugged, staring at me before turning to the view of her city. A beautiful one at that too; she'd done wonderful of it. "I can't tell. I honestly didn't know I'd get the powers until I did. It was easy for me, you know, moving with the wind and using it to help my people. I never wondered what it'd be like, without it."
I nodded, understanding a little. It was almost the same as how people back home would feel. We'd never think that we'd be behaving as one until we receive the cause to it. For example, as annoying as Josh can be, I couldn't imagine how my life would've been if he hadn't been there.
"The elements form and stand alone every century."
Ellie agreed. "That's what I'd told you."
"Then, if it happens every century, and the last era is here, that would make you almost four century years old." I'd done the calculation a few minutes ago. She'd said that aging is different for the element holders when they are in Melledellore. But to live for four centuries, I was speechless.
Ellie though, laughed it off, smiling at me. "How old do I look?"
"Around thirty?"
"The element holders are only awakened after they turn twenty-one."
My eyes widened, it made sense. I'd only started getting the dreams after my twenty-first birthday.
"That's nine years difference!"
