I was praying in my head that I wouldn't fall again. I tightly held onto the horn like spines of Poppy as Oliver patted her back to go faster. I could hold onto him but I didn't want to risk him falling too.

Plus, I'm too scared to touch him, what if he takes it in the wrong way? I closed my eyes when I felt a little nauseous. Then I thought, fuck it, and grabbed out Oliver's sides tightly. I had my coat in my hand and he turned around to check if I was alright. When I slowly nodded, he turned back to pat Poppy again.

Soon, the ride became slow with Theresa near us, 'woo'ing and doing flips on her dragon, Bob. I, on the other hand, slowly felt myself slide off. Thank god this time Over noticed quickly and reached out for me, catching my hand.

My eyes were finally wake when my brain realized that I was hanging off a dragon, in the middle of the sky, ground nowhere to go.

My hair came out of its bun and covered my face from seeing anything.

I thought Oliver would loose his grip, but a few struggles later, he pulled me up in front of him. Holding onto my hips, he balanced the two of us on the dragon and kept his eyes on me. I stared back, trying to calm my breathing but for some reason, it started to speed back up at I noticed how close we both were and how the air on me was warm because of his breath.

I stopped breathing as he stared into my eyes, searching for something. I did the same, swimming in the smoky river as his touch over my dress sparked some sort of electricity through me. I was pressed against his front and could feel how strong he is and wondered how I felt against him. Did I have too much fat? Do I look ugly in my blouse and shorts?

My thoughts were disturbed when Poppy snarled, shaking her head. Oliver snapped from our staring moment and pulled me up further so I was sitting sideways in front of him. I looked up to notice Theresa flying right beside. She had a terrific smile on her face.

"I'm sad to brake the moment but," Oliver stiffened at her comment and I tried my best not to show my blush, my open, red hair coming in handy. "I think we're at the Gates of Tantus."

She maneuvered Bob and flew towards the ground with great control that one would think she's very used to riding a dragon.

"You're friends getting the hang of flying a dragon, I'm surprised." Oliver told me, keeping his eyes on Poppy. It's obvious that he's avoiding my eyes.

I cleared my throat, "she reads a lot."

Neither of us spoke after that and Poppy slowly made it to land. Once we were standing on land after a few struggles of getting off, I noticed a large dragon that looked similar to Bob, standing off to a side, rubbing its neck on the trees.

"Amelia!" Jade's voice made me turn around and notice the young girl walk towards me, arms wide and a smile on her face. "So glad that you're back! We waited so many days for you but decided that we'd track the Gates of Tantus while at it. And it looks like you knew where we were."
