I'm still stuck on Earth.
After last nights discovery, I fell asleep on my couch with the smell of cold noodles lingering in the air. When I woke up, I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed to realize that there was no Oliver standing near me with a frown. Once I finished sulking and crying over the fact that my close friend was still missing, I'd gotten up to start the day.
I put my clothes, including the dress Jade gave me in the wash and fitted myself with a freshly dried light pink blouse that laid loose on my body and some shorts. I kept the necklace on since it matched well with anything I wore.
I let my red hair down for the day and sat myself down in front of my table once all the food items were stored in the kitchen cupboards. I still have no progress on my projects. As if the number of problems I had didn't make my life harder, Josh has been calling me none stop since the sun decide to peak out for the day.
I didn't return his calls. I didn't bother to read his messages.
I was too pissed at him to let go of the grudge.
My phone started to vibrate again, making me startle and draw a not-so-needed line on the centre of my project paper. I cursed out loud before slamming the pencil on the table and roughly grabbing the phone to answer.
"Look Josh, I really don't have the time-"
"I know, I know. That's why I called Amy!" I raised an eyebrow even though he couldn't see me. He knew that I didn't have the time to answer calls but he still rung me up... that made so much sense; not. "I just wanted to call and say that yesterday wasn't the best way to tell you that I missed our time together. It came out wrong and you probably think that I don't care about your work. Well I don't but whatever," I heard him mumble the last part and roll my eyes.
"Look, Josh," I started again. "I'm busy right now and I have so much on my plate that I can't seem to fit your oh-so-perfect stuck-up attitude in it. I've been trying to ignore your 'I don't care about anything but my needs' self but yesterday was the limit. You knew how important this project is to me! You were the first one I told about my dream and really, you haven't been the best support." I paused and spoke up when he didn't say anything back. "Look, my brain is not functioning right at the moment and it would be really nice to have some peace and quiet to myself. I think it'll be good for both of us if we break up."
Josh suddenly sounded alarmed at my words. Honestly, I thought that he'd be relieved.
"What? Amelia, you don't mean that!" Josh's voice started to hurt my ears so I pushed the phone away a little. "Like you said, you're not in your right mind! Don't make harsh decisions that you'll regret later!"
I sighed into the phone, "as much as I want to say no to this, you have to understand Josh; I don't think I'll ever be regretting this decision."
"But," Josh stumbled with his words. "We've been together since high school!"
