"Sorry Kavya, we can't make it. "
I was shattered when this message flashed on my screen.

Convincing your Indian parents for a girls trip seems impossible. I crossed every obstacle to get a nod for my trip.
After two weeks of constant struggles and hard work, they started listening to me.

After several failed attempts, i finally managed to get their consent.

"I promise this is the last time i am going away from kolkata alone. "

"No, you are not mature enough to go alone. When you will reach that age, we will never say no."

"When? In a month i will be in 4th year of my college. My friends are already independent. Here i am just asking for a permission." I said while trying to convince him.

"Yes i know, let them be." He said while declining my request.

"At least give me a chance. I promise, this is the last time i am asking this. I will never ask again until i will be independent enough to take my own decisions. "

"If you want to go anywhere then take your sister with you. "

He said and left the room.

"Did he say yes?" I was beyond happy when i heard those words from his mouth. It was a clear approval.
My father isn't strict. He just cares a lot for us because he knows how the world works.
Hearing those words from my father was a great deal for me.

He has a special way to dealing with things. Whenever i try to cook anything in front of him, he always comes to get a sneak peek through the door to ensure i am safe from all the possible accidents in the kitchen that I have the ability to cause.
Whenever he feels i need something, he brings it without even letting me know.
He feels shy in expressing his feelings, but his actions never fail to do so.
He has special ways of showing his love and i love each of them.

On the other hand, my mother is quite different than my father. She never hesitates to express how much she loves me. Most of the times, she helps me in convincing my father.

I was so excited for this trip but my happiness faded away when my friends cancelled our much awaited plan.

I instantly called Divya, my best friend.
" yaar what happened? Why did you cancel your ticket?"

"Kavya, i am really sorry. My parents are literally forcing me to attend a wedding with them . I tried to convince them but nothing worked. I am really feeling bad for us."

Divya was a very sweet girl, who never intentionally hurts anybody. She was more excited than me. We shopped matching clothes and accessories to acquire numerous twinning pictures.

When her parents refused to let her go, she was heartbroken.

As her best friend, i just wanted to cheer her up.
"I know how badly you wanted to go but relax we will go somewhere together.it's not the end of the world. I think you should enjoy in the wedding, just don't be sad thinking about our trip. okay? "

"I am so sorry again." She said in an extremely low voice as if she was feeling very guilty.

"It's absolutely alright. Don't feel bad, it's not your fault. Let's plan a movie date once you come back from the wedding."

"Yes, sure. I would love to make it up to you."

"Hey, by the way what happened to others? Why they cancelled the plan?"
