Rose's POV
Cole is different.
I swear he is. He is avoiding me. I haven't had the chance to talk to him alone for the past few days. I don't know what could have suddenly happened to make him start acting this way towards me. Did he regret kissing me? Did he think that kissing me was a huge mistake?
Oh God, what if he thinks I'm a horrible sloppy kisser and just doesn't have the guts to tell me. I think that I would really die if any guy told me I was a bad kisser.
Anyway, I'm sitting in the library reading a book called Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi,(You guys this book series is captivating and addicting!! OMG its a must read) so far its really good and i'm totally into it.
I've just started in like 2 hours ago and I'm almost done; not to brag or anything.
You're such a nerd, says my inner voice.
I smile to myself because I know that it's true. Just as I am reading my book, Cole walks in. When he sees me he stops in his tracks. He then turns around quickly and walks out.
What the hell? Oh no, he was not about to just walk out on me like what. I then get up from my seat and I follow him out of the library.
"COLE?" I yell.
He turns around to face me. "Hey Sunshine."
I raise my eyebrows at him and fold my arms. "Hey? That's all you're going to say to me is hey? How about you explain why you have been ignoring me for the past few days."
He sighs. "I haven't been ignoring you Rose, i've just been...thinking about alot, ok?"
"No ok. Why don't you just talk to-"
He cuts me of, "Sunshine, I really don't need a fucking therapist right now," he retorts clearly annoyed.
I'm getting frustrated too. "Who said anything about a therapist Cole? I'm you're friend. What are you talking about?"
"Well if you're my FRIEND, can you just leave me the hell alone and back off?" he asks, adding emphasis on friend.
I looked at him in awe. "What the hell is your problem?" I asked, pissed off.
"My problem is people always trying to meddle there way into my business."
"Is that what you think i'm doing huh?" I asked, mad.
He glares at me. "Yes it is what you're doing."
I shake my head at him. "You're clearly dealing with a lot of shit right now and maybe that's why you're being an asshole." I say.
He gives me a fake laugh. "I'm being an asshole because I want to be left alone? Oh grow up Rose."
I look at him. And say nothing. Because this is not the Cole that I kissed. The kind compassionate Cole that made my heart melt into my chest in just a numbered amount of days. What happened to him?
"Funny how people can change in literally 2 days," I say.
He just looks at me, his whole demeanor changed. "Maybe I never changed, maybe this is who I really am."
I shake my head at him again and say "Whatever Cole." I then start to walk away.
"Rose WAIT." I hear him say.
I turn around so quick. "NO COLE. I won't WAIT! I don't know who you are and quite frankly? I don't think I care to find out anymore. Just FORGET everything that happened. Just continue to act as if you're that bad boy who doesn't give two fucks about anyone but himself. But just remember this Cole; I know you're story and I know who you REALLY are. So I won't be entertaining your bad boy performance like everybody else does. So you know what Cole? Have a good fucking life, and stay the hell out of my way."
