Just then there was a knock on the door. Several of us turned toward the door when Pa pulled the door opened. "Hello, I am Dr. Stein and this is Dr. Becker. We were directed over here by Dr. Niles."
Alpha Cassidy spoke up, "you are late." Then he looked and said, "I thought Dr. Steinbecker was one person?"
"No, I am Doctor Stein and Dr. Becker is my mate. We adopted twins and that is why we are here because of our study on the phenomenon called twinning. Is it ok to bring our twins in here?" Alpha Cassidy nodded his head yes. They walked over and opened the door and called out, "Ana, Izzy, Zander and Xavier please step in." They walked in. I noticed they were wearing the similar bracelets to me. "He looks over at my brothers, "are you the ones I am here to help? I was told there were triplets involved and missing."
I stood up, I held up my wrist, "no they are visiting with their parents from another pack. I am the one with the missing triplets. However don't know if they are alive or not. I had been told they died in an automobile accident when I was three, but when I had pain a couple days ago after my first shift Dr. Niles said I acted like I was suffering from twinning syndrome. He contacted you and put this bracelet on me. No pain since then. He said Dr Steinbecker recommended this until he got here. I do not really what happened during the episodes."
Darren spoke up, "please have a seat Doctors." He pointed to some folding chairs by the wall. They went and sat down. He then turns to me, "Joan we know that your foster parents knew about you. We don't know if they know if your siblings lived or not. We don't even know if they lived. We are just guessing they might have. None of the reports indicate anyone lived. My own father thought you even passed away. I did leave a message for the Wesley's family and are waiting for a reply." He then clicked to the next screen. It was a map of the area.

"We know your family was heading to a hotel in our pack area. They had checked out of their hotel in the Royal Pack area and stopped at the lake. They were heading toward our area when they got into the accident on the road through Memorial Lake. Dad was first on the scene and human fire department and ambulances arrived minutes after him. They took your mom and my dad went with them by helicopter to the city from the small town hospital. You and your sister went by different ambulances. Then dad shared what happened. He had been told by hospital staff the family died. We know that isn't true since your here." No one mentioned my brothers since we did not know the Steinbeckers.
Dr Becker spoke up, "if that was a twinning syndrome response one other triplet at least would have to be alive. When she had the episode did anyone notice her acting odd?"
Giovanni spoke up, "she kept looking toward the southeast and saying she felt a pull. I figure it was new wolf wanting to run. I lead her to the trail that headed southeast of us. It took us toward Memorial Lake. When we got on the southeastern side of the lake. She looked southeast and about then was when she screamed and blacked out. Every time she started to wake she would look that way again. She would sometimes scream. This behavior continued until Dr. Niles put that bracelet on."
Dr Stein spoke, "Before we adopted our twins here their parents had been killed in a rogue attack. In both cases they split up the twins and were fostered by their packs. The girls got their wolves at age 16 and the boys at age 12. We were part of the pack with the boys. We discovered one of the twins had an abusive foster parent because of his twin having twinning episodes. The pack took care of the situation. It was then we decided to adopt the boys.
Then three years later when the girls got their wolves. One of the girls went for a run and tried to jump a ravine and did not make it. She was hurt. I happened to be visiting the pack doctor. She was someone I went through training with. The foster parent brought in one of the girls freaking out. I did not know her and based on her symptoms she acted like the boys when one of them were hurt. I asked if she had a twin and they said yes. We let her go and have the Alpha command her to find her sister. She was very hard to follow because of her speed. We did follow her. Then rescued her sister. When we found out they were fosters we adopted them also. Back home we have 4 other sets of twins we have adopted. 3 of the sets are young pups. The fourth set got their wolf a couple months back."
I looked at him and asked, "are you saying I can track my sister or sisters down?"
One of the girls spoke up, "I am Izzy. The answer is sort of. When I felt Ana I got a pulling toward her because she was in trouble. I feel her emotions as long as she doesn't have me block. When she was knocked unconscious I felt her pain as she bounced down the ravine. That is when my foster mom said I grabbed my head and then my side screaming in pain. Thankfully the Beta was nearby. He scooped me up and he ran me to the pack hospital. My foster mom followed. I found when she was unconscious or sleeping I can follow the pull, but when she would wake up and become aware of the pain I would feel the pain. I could looked the direction of the pull but could not follow it."
"If I take off this bracelet then I could follow it toward her?"
Zander said, "but I would not pull it off here. I would go to the area you last were at. Then take it off. Once you got the pull. Put the bracelet back on. Then run for about 10-15 minutes. Then take if off. This way you are just following the direction of the pull without feeling pain long term if there is still pain going on. We have found emotionally and physically it is easier to follow than just every day activity."
"Well then let's get going. I have a sister to find."
My uncle spoke up, "no, we need to plan. If they know about the twinning syndrome it could be a trap. If they don't we need to set up a plan."
Alpha Cassidy spoke up, "with us knowing Lyle is involved he will have an army of rogues and it sounds like Vampires too. We have dealt many skirmishes with his rogues over the years. We should bring the King and the other neighboring Alphas here to plan the attack. tomorrow we will meet at the circle of Memorial Lake. We will ask that each group bring their top 20 fighters but to make sure they all are wearing a scent blocker. They should have their fighters stay out of sight. How about we say meet there at 6:00am." He looked at Ma and Pa, "we will have Giovanni be her guard. The rest of you will stay here."
My uncle spoke up, "I know I am not a neighboring pack, but I can have 20 troops here by tonight."
Alpha Cassidy said, "That is fine. They can come to my pack since you are here."
Zander spoke up, "we are top fighters in our pack. Dads and my sisters are not fighters. How about they stay here and we go with Joan and Giovanni. We know how to use the bracelet and keep her from getting wild. We can also be part of her guard. We will know by her behavior if it is the twinning pull or not."
Alpha Dalton spoke up, "The doctors mentioned that Izzy was hard to follow because of her speed and the pull. I would suggest each of us place our fastest tracker with Joan also. This way if she gets going to fast to keep us. They can also track her. Then guide us."
Alpha Cassidy said, "sounds like a good idea. Well I got phone calls to make." He stood up and headed out with his mate behind him. The other alphas headed out already contacting their Betas. I hugged my brothers goodbye before they followed their dad out. I looked at my grandparents and said, "we are staying with you." We went downstairs to eat the spaghetti meal that had been prepared.
