The next morning I woke and I was using Darren as a pillow. When I looked up My face turned red. Then I heard a growl. "Why are you sleeping with my sister in your arms?"
I growled back, "stop it Gio. Last nights storms got bad and he sat with me when I jumped from the storm during my fire watch."
"You're not doing fire watch now. Why didn't you climb up with me?"
"Good grief. He was awake and you weren't. He was being a friend."
"Well I am your big brother."
"Brother who is being a pain in the ass."
"If mama or papa heard you talking like that."
"Oh, please. You talk worse than that."
"Your a lady. Men can get away with that."
"Gio. don't you dare go there."
Darren growled and spoke enough, "ok stop your sibling squabble. Let's get ready to eat. Then since it's still raining why don't we explore this cave."
Judas moved to the middle, "you growled. Your not human are you?"
Jewels replied, "just like I knew you were not human when you called me beloved. I had to bite my tongue and not call you mate yesterday."
Judas looked her in the eyes and said, "My beloved is a wearwolf? Why did you not attack us last night? We were told that werewolves attack and kill vampires."
Nero added, "Why are you hiding your scent and smelling like humans?"
Tia replied, "we are on a mission, but it is not our story to tell. I know you're my mate and was surprised to learn that. We could not harm you and Judas because you our Jewels and my mate."
Darren replied, "the Royal warriors wanted to take you and question you today."
Shelley replied, "we stopped them. We figured with Tia and Jewels you would decide to keep them safe from other vampires."
Darren replied, "we are after your maker."
"Quagmire?" Judas replied.
Darren replied, "no Lyle."
Mitch replied, "Councilman Quagmire?"
"Yes, he sent us here to investigate Lyle. We are having a lot of feral vampires showing up and that can lead to our discovery."
Mitch said, "I need to contact the king and tell him to contact the councilman. We seem to be after the same person."
"Khan?" Asked Judas
I went to the center, "let's all sit down. I guess this is my story to tell." Then I told them my story.
"Lyle is your family? He wants you and your siblings dead? Is Darren your mate?"
"No, but he acts just like Gio does. I think one of my sisters are his mate just as my other sister is Gio's mate."
"I thought Gio was your brother,"
"His parents adopted me. That is how we are related." I decide not to mention my brothers.
"Do you think Lyle has your sisters?"
"I think he has one of them. When I take off the bracelet I feel a small tug one way, but a giant pull the other. I think the one with the pull is endangered."
Judas replied, "you do know last nights storm was not natural?"
Darren replied, "Yes, there were elemental witches fighting last night. Plus the Royal Warriors were out last night. They chased away two late night vampires during the night."
Mitch spoke up, "I talked with the king and he is contacting Councilman Quagmire."
Brian says, "ok now that is cleared up let's eat. I went out and the warriors left us a box of fresh provisions. I don't have to pass them off as stuff I found. We got a cast iron skillet and eggs and bread. So we can have boar, eggs and toast." He looked at the vampires and said, "what about you guys?"
"We caught a deer and fed yesterday when we caught last nights supper for you. But we can eat regular food too."
I looked at them, "you are not creatures of just the night that suck blood?"
Judas replied, "there are some like that. We choose to drink animal blood, but we can eat human food also. Only the ones who go feral and don't belong in coven groups can go feral. This is similar to your rogues. If you are changed you need to be trained. You should be fed but some change others for power and do not train them. Our council laws state we can now only change ones who are our beloved or family. Sometimes others get changed but if we change someone we have to inform the council."
I ask, "what about children?"
Nero replies, "if the parents and children die together we can change them. Children will keep on aging until they reach adulthood and stop growing. Depending on the child that can be about age 17-22. It is frowned on to just change a child if a parent is still alive."
"You can change dead people? Like make them zombies?"
They all start laughing and I look at them. Gio replies, "zombies are not real."
"If they recently died and their body is still warm we can change them. The longer they have been dead and colder the body is the harder it is to have a successful change."
Just as they finished saying that there was a loud kaboom outside and I jumped. We all looked out and it was raining hard outside. We could see hail.
Brian stood up and said, "let me make breakfast. Let's make sure all our gear is put up and will stay dry." I went and got my clothes and they were dry. I folded them up and put them back in my bag. I straightened up my bedding and placed Darren's back on his ledge. I then went into a cavern toward the back that we were using as bathrooms.
After breakfast we went farther in the cave following the water. We followed the water until it lead into a large cavern. We saw several streams start to come together and we take it to the ledge.

We see it goes into another cavern. Then we turn around and walk back. When we got back noticed it had stopped raining. It was overcast. We walked around outside. I pulled my bracelet off and felt the strong pull. I started walking that way, but Xavier stopped me. He slid the bracelet back on. He looked at me and said, "you almost walked off the ledge."
I have to go find my sisters. I pointed one way and said, "that way I feel a very strong pull." Then I pointed another way. "Then that way is a weaker pull. I just know we got to find out what is happening to the one. Then I can help stop it."
Xavier gave me a hug, "I know that pull feeling and we will find it. I promise I will help you keep searching until you find the truth about your sisters. Now let's go inside. Let's eat and then we will settle down for the night. Then tomorrow we will take off again. The air feels like it is clearing. So the fighting has stopped."
