Atticus' POV
I hated seeing her ill, even if it was her fault for getting drunk in the first place. Knowing that she is lying in my bed made me feel a peculiar way. When a know there is a woman in my bed my usual reaction would be to go in there and sleep with her. Then she would leave.
But I feel different in this moment I feel an urge to care for her and I'm not sure if I like that feeling. I left her alone so I could collect my thought and give her some needed piece and quite, I had some unfinished work in my office, so I headed there. Once I opened the door I didn't expect to see Dante and Diego sat down on the couch.
"What are you two fucking clowns doing in here?" I grunted sitting down at my desk and logging into my computer.
"We just wanted to check up on you, how is your little angel doing?" Diego mocked, a seething anger already bubbling within me.
"I swear Diego if another word comes out of your mouth I will shove my gun so far down your throat it comes out your ass" he chuckled at my short temper as did Dante.
"Sir, it seems you have some feelings for Bellamy" Dante explained as if I didn't already know that.
"Men don't you have jobs to be doing?"
"Yes, July has tracked down a location, it was the last place Othello called from. But it is in the middle of the city and most likely was a random call. July thinks it was to set us off track".
"Have Elora and Beatrice go check the location out, give them backup a block away a team of five. You two and July track their whereabouts from here."
"You want Beatrice to go out?" Diego asked slightly shocked,
"She has finished her training I think she should be put to good use and she is with Elora, she won't take any shit. Have Beatrice and Elora here in my office in 15 minutes that should give them enough time to be ready and I can prep them" I finish, the men nod their heads and leave me to read through emails I have been sent.
After 15 minutes there is a knock at my door and the women walk in.
"Hello , Are you both well?" I ask not taking my eyes off my computer.
"Yes Sir" This both respond back to me.
"And Beatrice are you ready?" I ask my eyes rising up to her.
"Yes I am" She says a confident tone in her voice which I liked to see from my family.
"Well You both will need at minimum of two guns, have one hidden within the back of your trousers and one at the ready by your side. As this is Beatrice's first mission I expect you Elora to take charge. Scope out the place, it is an abandoned apartment, there is other tenants in the building so if possible don't make much noise. If there is anything dangerous either call for backup or get out of there. Do you understand?"
"Yes sir" The nod their heads before leaving me alone once again.
Now that I have a moment of peace I decide to check on Bellamy, I delicately open the door trying to be quiet, I see her sleeping peacefully in my bed. The bed looks big when I sleep in it but right now it looks colossal with her sleeping peacefully. Her bunny has fallen out of the bed, so I take it in my hands and oh so carefully slide in in between her arms. She smiles softly in her sleep when she is reunited with her teddy bear. My hand with a mind of its own brushes her hair away from her face to reveal her rounded cheeks. Her mouth is now sightly agape, and she seems at peace, so I leave her alone.
I spend the rest of my morning, devising plans to find Othello the more we came up with it seemed the harder it was to find him. I can't wait till I can get my hands on him.
The longer he is out there the more of a danger he is to my family, he has tore my family apart after the death of my brother, Vierra has never been the same. Her anxiety takes over her a lot of the time and only in the last few months have it been getting better. Then she met Bellamy she seemed happier, Bellamy seemed to be a stabilizer for her. As much as I didn't agree with it, a month ago V would never have went out clubbing even with me and now she is enjoying herself. Which is great but I wish she understood I need to protect.
Othello has killed one of my siblings I will not let him kill another.
As plans came along a quiet knock was heard on my door.
"Accedere"( Come in) I call only for an unexpected sight at my door. Bellamy opened the door, and she was stood wrapped in a blanket with her bunny under her arms.
" I ..tried to find Vierra... but I can't, and I didn't know ...where to go" She stuttered, her face red and blotchy as if she had been crying.
"What happened?" I ask rising from my chair abruptly and leaning down to her height so I can be face to face with her.
"I had a nightmare", she whispered as if she was ashamed. Without thinking I held her close to my chest and stoked her hair gently, her sobs soon mellowed, and she was no longer quivering.
"You can sleep on the couch in here." I placed my hand on her back and lead her over to the sofa. She lay down, already yawning and I tucked her in to the blanket she had dragged through the house.
Soon sweat snores came from her but they were muffled by her thumb once again in her mouth. Another knock at my door came and before I could answer it was being open.
Can people not just leave me alone for one minute?
Diego walked in, a sinister grin on his face once he notice the girl wrapped in my blanket on the couch. He just winked at me and left knowing that this meant something.
She was asleep in my office; I have never let that happen before. I felt an internal groan ripple through me. Diego is not going to let me live this down.
