Vivica didn't know how long she'd been in solitary confinement. Three, four days? No, it must have beem longer because it felt like she'd been in there for years. The cell was dark, pitch black. There was a slate of cement elevated off the ground that Vivica couldn't even believe was a bed, and a pot for other business. The floors were cold and uninviting amd the walls and ceilings seemed to be closing in on her. Viv sat on the cement slate that she wished was more comfortable and cried until she fell into and uneasy sleep. Finally, the door to the cell opened letting light stream into the darkness.
"Get up mutt, time for food" the grumble of a man's voice said.
Vivica sat up slowly shuffled over to the door. She was taken by the arms and carried all the way to the cafeteria. It was strange seeing people, simce she had been alone the whole time of her punishment. 'Don't screw up again' her best friends hissed.
Viv went over to the food line, picking up a tray and looking over the cafeteria lady. She looked more like a man than a woman, and she was very grimy looking. The lady (or man) plopped a disgusting pile of brown slop on her plate.
"What is it?" Viv mumbled.
"It's food ya ungrateful load of-" the lady started to say something in a hostile tone, but stopped in the middle of her sentence with a grunt.
Vivica basically speed walked away to sit at a table alone with her food. The food she would most likely not be eating. Gazing around the room, her eyes settled on an extremely intimidating sight.
There was a boy sitting across the room, looking at her intently. He was very muscular, his black hair choppy and unkept but in an interesting way. He had brown eyes that seemed to burn holes into Vivica's brain. Noticing now that she'd seen him, the strange boy smirked at her in a mockingly seductive way. Viv forced herself to look away in fear.
She accidentally started listening to a conversation that was going on behind her.
"We're leaving at dawn, Wes has already burrowed half the tunnel. By next month, he'll be done and we're out" a young girl told the other person.
"This better work or slit both your throats" an older woman with a heavy Spanish accent threatened.
"It will, I'm sure of-" then the smaller girl stopped talking. She walked around to the side of Vivica and peered down at her with hard green eyes. The girl was extremely short, with long brown hair and she had a blood on her patient outfit. The other woman came around as well. She was tall and had gang tattoos all over her. Her gair was wavy and also brown, her eyes so dark they were almost black.
"What did you hear?" the smaller girl interrogated.
"Nothing..." Vivica answered in a wavering voice.
'Run! You can't take the both of them!' her friends hissed."Well whatever you heard, you better keep your damm mouth shut kid" the Spanish patient said, making Vivica shiver but nod with fear. She could feel ger eyes start to sting with wet guilty tears. Whatever conversation she'd just heard, it must have been confidential. About escaping this place? Vivica wished she could join in on the plan, but also was glad she wasn't in on it. Well, not completely. Peeking in on their plans was in a way, part of being included.
The two stalked away to sit with the boy who had been staring at her. But it didn't seem like he knew anything, plus they didn't discuss the matter. The smaller brunette sneakily glanced over to Viv and put a finger over her mouth as if to say 'shuuuuuusssshh'
Vivica threw the rest of her food (which she hadn't touched and was still starving) away while the gaurds and lunch aids weren't looking. She was escorted back to cell 309 instead of the solitary confinement cell, which she was glad for. Viv sat on her bunk, her eyes closed an thinking about what had happened, also discussing it with her 'best friends'.
