The two girls spent the rest of the day at the mall, but left once it was getting dark. Jisoo offered to walk Jennie home since she didn't trust her parents once she got home. Jisoo knew that she couldn't protect her once she got home, but now she hopes she'll trust her more now she saw how they treat her.

"Hey Jisoo I actually want to tell you something..." Jennie says as they walk, Jisoo looks at Jennie as she stares down.

"Yeah sure, what is it?" Jisoo asks seeing Jennie take a breath. What came to Jisoo's mind was why would she say no to her? If anything Jisoo loves the sound of her voice.

"I'm sorry about what my parents said to you at the mall. I swear I had no idea they were there. I thought they wouldn't be there." Jennie sighed and stopped walking causing Jisoo to do the same.

"Jennie" Jisoo called out. She put her hands on her shoulders.

"It's okay, I don't care that they did that. What I'm worried about is how they treat you at home. You may not want to talk about it and that's okay. Just know don't keep it in all the time, I'm hear to listen if you need to vent. Okay?" Jisoo states firmly for Jennie.

Jennie felt like she was going to cry. For once in her life someone knew and saw what she was going through.

"If you need a place to stay if you parents are being too much or too toxic you can come over and spend the night at my house. My parents won't mind, I promise. I just want you safe." Jisoo states again. Jennie hugs Jisoo not wanting her to see the tears, but and hear her soft whimpers telling Jisoo that she was crying. Jisoo hugged her back holding her as if she won't let any harm come to her.

"T-thank you..." Jennie says softly letting out her tears that she held in. Jisoo rubs her back knowing that Jennie never had this level of comfort. Jisoo felt Jennie relax into her which gave Jisoo some comfort that Jennie trusts her more now.

"I know you probably don't want to, but we're close to my house." Jennie says letting go of the hug and wiping her tears away. Jisoo takes her sleeve and clears some of the tears for Jennie causing her to blush.

"Okay let's get you home, we'll see each other at school on Monday. Do you work during the weekend?" Jisoo asks as they start to walk again.

"Yeah I work on Saturday, but I'm off. Why?" Jennie asks wondering why Jisoo wants to know.

"I just wanted to know that's all." Jisoo says as they stop in front of Jennie's house. Jennie took a breath and walked up to the door.

"Jisoo." Jennie calls out to her.

"Yeah Jennie?" Jisoo answers her seeing a smile on Jennie's face.

"Thanks for today. I really needed it." Jennie says as Jisoo nods and waves bye to her as she enters her home. Jisoo walks toward her home and thinks of the events of her day. Now she knew what Jennie kept from Rose and Lisa. She can't really keep it from her anymore since she saw it first hand. She just hoped that Jennie would come to talk to her when things get bad.

"No one should ever grow up like that..." Jisoo says to herself as walks up to her house. She opened the door to her house and as expected. Her dad was knocked out and her mom was biting her nail. Her mom made eye contact with her, and right before her mom could speak Jisoo beat her to it.

"Yes I know I'm late, I'm sorry I was walking my friend home. I know I should had called and yes we did eat and get homework done." Jisoo answers the quetions her mom was going to ask. Her mom sighed and looked at her calmly.

"At least you know what your doing. I'll wake your father, you can head up stairs and sleep." Jisoo's mom says walking over to Jisoo's father.

"Night mom." Jisoo calls out going to her room.

"Night sweetie." Jisoo hears her mom say. Jisoo gets changed and lays down in her bed. Not once has her dad waited for her or at least tried to. He was always working and her mom was home to take care of her. She already knew the story.

Dad working long shifts for them to live. If only Jisoo's mom knew that he get's off two hours earlier then she thinks. It wasn't her fault that she saw him at a bar with another woman, but what can she do? Jisoo was only six at that time. It was innocent for her, but not when she told her mom. Ever since then her dad promised to be better to her mom. The good part was now he doesn't lie and actually does do over time.

Two days later....

It was Monday already, but something didn't feel right to Jisoo. She got to the school first, then Lisa, and then Rose, but no Jennie. Jisoo was getting really worried and tried calming herself down. The bell rang and just thought of something reasonable.

'She's probably slept in late...I'll just see her at lunch.' Jisoo thinks to herself and heads off to class.  As the time for her classes was passing by she still couldn't help, but worry about Jennie.

Was she late?

Did she make it on time?

Did she text Lisa that'll she's late?

Wouldn't she want to say it in the group chat?

Did she text me and I didn't see it?

Or did she text Rose instead?

So many questions ran through Jisoo's mind until she was pulled out by Rose.

"Jisoo are you okay?" Rose asks in a worried tone.

"Yeah I'm fine, I'm just worried about Jennie. Did she text you or something?" Jisoo asks earning a head shake from Rose. Jisoo sighed and said it was okay and that she'll ask Lisa. Which speak of the devil, Lisa came up to them, but without Jennie.

"Lisa where's Jennie?" Jisoo asks her.

"She texted me saying she was sick and not coming to school." Lisa answered.

Jisoo knew that was a lie.
