Jennie was about to cry, the only person who knew everything about her was standing right in front of her.
"W-when did you get back?" Jennie ask as she hugs her brother. Chen returns the hug with a smile.
"A little while ago. I wanted to surprise you at home, but dad said you were at work." Chen states letting go of the head. Jennie only needed five more minutes of work then she heads home. Five minutes went by pretty fast in Jennie case. She said her goodbye to Nayeon and headed to her brother. They got into the car and headed home. When they got to the house they just both looked at it. Either of them got out of the car.
Chen went through the same thing that Jennie's going through right now. He still hates he left her behind to deal with this. When they were younger they only trusted each other and would protect each other from their mother. It's different now, now Jennie just puts up with it. She didn't want to make it worse.
"I'm guessing mom should be home by now." Chen says not turning on the car. No one couldn't say they weren't scared to get out of the car. They were scared of what their mother would say when she see's Chen.
"Yeah....So what we do?" Jennie asks looking at her brother. Chen looks at Jennie and puts his eyes on the road and drives.
"Chen? Where we going?" Jennie ask seeing her home get smaller and smaller.
"We're going to the park I use to take you to." Chen answers her. Jennie smiles knowing they'll be fine till they get home, but she wouldn't have to worry about that. Jennie and Chen arrived at the park and just sat on the playground since no one was there. They talked about things that went on at school and other things.
"Wait his voice cracked in the middle of a song?" Jennie ask laughing after hearing her brother's friend who also happened to be in a band together.
"Oh yeah we didn't let him live that down for while." Chen says laughing.
"You still talk to Kai?" Chen ask making Jennie roll her eyes.
"No. I have no reason too anyway." Jennie tells her brother nod in agreement.
"You have a point, but anyone you like right now?" Chen smiles causing Jennie to look the other way.
"There's someone isn't there? Tell me who he is, or not just tell me about him." Chen says to his sister.
'Him.....not really a him.' Jennie thinks as she still doesn't know her feelings about Jisoo yet.
"Well...I'm not very sure about my feelings yet, but I know that this 'person' is there for me. They helped me out and make me feel safe when with them. They know about how mom treats me and dad let them see me when I was not myself. If anything I don't know how I feel about them." Jennie explains then looks at her brother. She's met with an shocked expression.
"They know about how toxic mom is?" Chen ask wanting to know more. Jennie nods and tells him without mentioning Jisoo's name about what happened at the mall.
"That's crazy....and they didn't say anything to Lisa or to Rose?" Chen asks again.
"Nope. They kept it to themselves because they knew it was between us." Jennie smiles thinking of Jisoo.
"You like him~ Also why you kept saying 'them' why not him?" Chen ask causing Jennie to get sacred.
"Hey if it's a girl or someone with no gender. That's fine." Chen says calming down Jennie.
"Well you see both Lisa and Nayeon I like her, but I don't know. Maybe I do maybe I don't and it's just friendly stuff and I'm overthinking it." Jennie claims and looks at her brother. His face telling her that she's lying to herself, but she doesn't get it.
"What? What's with that face?" Jennie tells him. Chen sighs and shakes his head.
"Jennie your gay." Chen tells her straight out. Which shocks Jennie because her own brother is saying she's gay.
"Well we don't know for sure." Jennie claims trying to get out of the hole she's dug.
"Okay then answer this little question. Have you thought of that person during the time we've been here?" Chen smiles while looking at his sister. Jennie was about to answer no, but she knew he would see that was a lie.
"Y-yes...I have thought of...her." Jennie blushes and feels arms around her.
"It's okay. Just know I support you." Chen says and it feeling like the heaviness left Jennie. How long did it take for her to realize this. Then it really hit her.
"Oh shit I'm gay....." Jennie says looking at her hand.
"You sure are." Chen tells her and then he sees the look of shock on Jennie's face.
"Hey there's nothing wrong with being gay and liking girls." Chen tells her and Jennie shakes her head.
"No it's not that it's just Lisa was right?" Jennie looks at Chen in shock. Then a look of shock goes to his face. Jennie has been friends with Lisa since they were five years old. So of course Chen knows her too. They look at each other and start to laugh.
"Oh my god I thought I'll never say that in my life!" Jennie claims as she laughs with her brother. After a little while they went home.
But something they both knew is that not all good things stay. When they came home they saw their mother waiting for them. Their father was in his room sleeping.
"When did you get here Chen?" Their mother says causing Chen to roll his eyes.
"Before you got here." He answers her making her angry.
"Don't take that tone of voice with me young man! I'm still your mother!" She yelled at him.
"Yeah, but you don't act like one." Chen says making their mother's eyes go wide. Then she slaps him hard making him fall to the ground. Jennie goes to help him as their mother walks out of the room.
"Why would you do that?" Jennie asks helping her brother up and getting ice for his cheek.
"It's my job as your brother to protect you." Chen tells her and smiles.
"Plus it was about time someone told her she was a bad mom."
