"Liv, you could have told me earlier."

"I'm sorry, Bunz. Paps was supposed to arrive tomorrow instead he decided to give us a surprise. They're planning a special family dinner and I can't be a killjoy. "

"I understand.. I just don't want to go alone.." I fake cry chewing on my lower lip.

"Don't go."

"I'm all dressed up. Mom will call me antisocial again." I sigh rubbing my eyebrows. "uh, it's fine, um, have fun. I'll call you later."

-

The party is dumb as fuck. I didn't come here to watch people getting high and kissing eachother on their mouth meanwhile Zach is drunk and wasted in a corner.

It is 10pm currently. Reluctant to waste the night away, I decide to visit a newly opened nearby bar.

Contradicting all my assumptions, the bar is rather quiet and the blue and purple neon lights make it look gorgeous.

My attention immediately moves to the smooth as silk voice coming from the dimly lit stage. His face not clearly visible from lack of light. He closes his eyes everytime he hit a high note. The guitar makes him look even more charming.

"Still with u~"

I leave my drink on the table facing the center of attention in the bar. Everyone, including me, are doing nothing but getting lost in his silvery voice.

My heart skips couple of beats the moment he locks his gaze on mine and doesn't look away for few more seconds, as if I am hypnotized to stay put, neither could I.

His eyes are cold yet there is a warm touch on them, effectively drawing me closer to spread the warmth they're born to offer.

His voice fairly slowing down as long as we continue holding the mutual gaze. Without averting he catches his pace.

Wrinkles are displayed around his eyes hinting he is smiling ear to ear. I take my phone out to capture this exhilarating moment for me.

That has me feel some type of way.

Sometimes later I get a message from my Dad.

Dad:
Where are you? I'm outside the party location.

Me:
I left that boring party. Stay there I'm coming.

A heavy load of disappointment shoots through my brain as I have to leave this moment behind. But the universal truth is, everything is bound to come to an end oneday.

-Next day-

"Y/n, baby.. wake up." I am pulled out of my beauty sleep to somebody shaking me cutely.

I grunt stretching my limbs out "Mom, stop. I'm up."

"Hurry up, baby! Your brother is here."

I keep my eyes shut not wanting to wake up yet.

"Be nice to him. According to your Dad, he's very sensitive. He is now family, don't ever let him feel he's adopted."

I was an outsider myself someday until I was adopted, too thus I would never let anyone near me feel the same way.

"Oh, god! Of course not. Won't that be so hypocritical of me?" I respond rolling my eyes quietly.

"Alright, good. So moving on, be quick." Mom leaves my room ruffling my hair and making me groan.

I finish my daily routine, ready to get introduced with the new face of our family.

There stands a man back facing me down the stairs, which I figure is my step brother. On God I'm nervous!

Taking a big huff of air, I gain everyone's attention clearing my throat.

"Oh, there she's. Son, this is Y/n."

"Hey." Next to Dad, I see an utterly, ridiculously handsome man, extending his big palmed hand.

His dark hair with undercuts which appered to be perfect looking, and not to mention those extremely thick cherry lips that stretched into an amazing smile exposing his captivating dimples, caught me in a trance. His outfit looks outright remarkable, black t-shirt loosely hanging from his shoulders revealing his collarbones and long neck, with gray colored sweatpants. His veiny hands caught mine and I squeeze softly.

"Hi.." I trail off wishing to know his name.

"Namjoon and it's a pleasure meeting you finally."

His ear to ear smile makes his eyes almost disappear. After our small interaction he leans back in his chair. I can't help but analyze him not in a pervy way but in general.

This man is really my brother now. Unbelievable.

"Nu, she my sister only." Jae complains in his baby voice.

Dad chuckles and sits him on his lap.

"Right, cute cheeks and since Namjoon is part of the family, too, You all are siblings."

I admit he seems really nice. But who knows what goes down the road.

-

"Would you like me to drop you at college?"

I politely decline Namjoon's offer; for the reason I'm still nervous and awkward around him. We just met, it'd take me a while to make myself comfortable.

"Look, we're a family now, you don't gotta be formal with me. I know it would take time and I hope for us to be comfortable around each other pretty soon." He smiles dipping his dimples.

"Right and it's okay, I'd take the bus."

"Since your college is around the corner of this cafe I'm meeting my friends at, I'm taking you. Come on I'll be waiting outside." He has dominance laced in his tone, completely irrefusable.

-

"Give me a call after you're done aNd I don't wanna hear no excuses. I'm picking up my sister." His emphasizes solemnly raising his eyebrows questioningly.

"I have no plans on walking home, so yeah, cool."

I climb off the vehicle and wave my brother bye.
