The fear of loosing her for the second time grasps my heart. Blaring noises hit my eardrums, making me sweat copiously. But physically I felt nothing.

I loosen up my embrace taking a look around.

"You hurt?"

My eyes light up seeing my brothers. I swear I have never been this delighted by arrival of that one brother of mine.

Intense joyful emotion clears all the apprehension in my body "Your timing is astronomical."

"Is she dead?" My discourteous brother asks. I shake my head denying his statement in annoyance. "Just fainted."

"Jungkook, I have told you before and I'm repeating for the zillionth time, this girl going to get you killed." I grunt loudly at his nagging speech he has been giving me for years.

"I'm just keeping my promise, that's all. You know I always stand by my words."

"Your promise? To someone who is most likely dead or even if he's not, he doesn't care for her, so why do you?"

"Obviously, because he loves her." My other brother adds fuel to fire.

"I don't." I speak with confidence hiding the massive hesitation inside me.

"I wouldn't sit with someone, I don't give two shits about, waiting to engulf death."

"I didn't raise you to be a simp in future, Kook."

They tick me off to the point I begin tugging on innocent grasses.

"Stop abusing those grasses."

"Will both of you shut up and help me take her home?"

Y/n

"I'll send her home as soon as she wakes up." He cuts the call putting his attention on me.

I have been awake for a while. Just didn't know how to act around Jungkook anymore. Nobody ever endangered themselves, putting my life prior to them. I'm a nobody to him, yet he made me feel calm and safe when we were an inch away from death.

"Wake up before I throw this bucket on your face." Jungkook threatens me.

My heart stops beating for a mili second and I jerk myself off.

"You'd hit me?" I'm aware he's playing, I go along with it.

"I knew you're awake. I was kidding."

I scratch the blanket not knowing what to say next.

"No need to be awkward around me. Not the first time I've saved you."

I frown to myself letting this information sink in and remembered about the couple times I mysteriously cheated death.

"It was you..?"

"Mhm, it's okay you don't have to thank me."

"No, wait! Everytime I met with an accident, you were there. And you saved me but.. does that mean.."

"That means you should be grateful to me."

"No! That means you're unlucky to me."

"What?!" He exclaims in disbelief.

"According to you, I almost died whenever you were around me. Even today, I was doing fine until you showed up. I have this near death experience with you. I think it will stop if you stay away from me."

I make some dumb theory up pretending to be ungrateful, like his brother called me. Susceptibility to affection and attention from others makes insecurities louder than aplomb. As heartless as my words came out, what matters most is Jungkook shouldn't risk his own life for me whatsoever. I don't deserve him.

"Perhaps you're right.." He mutters in a defeating tone.

"Exactly! Please stop stalking me and do something productive." My heart punches my chest, I stop talking to conceal my tone rich in melancholy by now.

With a heavy heart, I touch my feet on the ground proceeding to make my way out.

"Goodbye, Jungkook. I'm grateful for all those times you saved me."

My behavior visibly upsets him a great deal. He watches me leave in glossy eyes, his trembling lips act like an impermeable membrane not letting any words pass through. Jungkook's long bangs cover part of his saddened face as he focusses the floor. He looks like he is about to cry.

"Do you want to, um, say anything before I go?"

He turns his back towards me.

"Just go."
