chapter fourteen

James woke up in a strange environment. He felt the Regulus's head on his chest, with their legs entwined. James slowly pushed him down, trying not to wake him up and he inhaled the cold air as he sat up. He pulled a paper out of Regulus's drawer and a quill. He dipped the quill in ink and started writing a note;

morning darling!

I have to go if I don't want your dorm mates to see me, and I don't.
see you today.

love, James

He laid the letter on the sheet and lent closer to Regulus, and kissed his cheek.

The corridors were empty, only a few people were walking towards the Great Hall, where James's destination was. He sat down at his table, and slowly ate his breakfast.

'James, hi!' The hufflepuff girl sat next to him.

'Morning.' He looked up, and smiled.
'I never caught your name.'

'Cedrina Diggory.' The girl smiled. 'So, how come you left yesterday? No one saw you return.'

'I was meeting someone.'

'I see.' The girl smiled. 'The party's end was lame anyways. Your friend, Sirius left not so much later you left, and, what's their name, Remus and Peter went too.'

'Oh. Well, I always knew I am the most fun thing.'

'Sure you are.' Cedrina chuckled.

'So you're in... fourth year?'

'I am.' She nodded.

'Morning!' Someone sat next to them.

'Morning Regulus!' The girl smiled.

'How come you're here?' James looked at him confused.

'I wanted to.' Regulus shrugged. 'Ced, did you do your Herbology essay, and if yes, can I copy?'

'I did. And you may. I'll give it to you at the afternoon.'

'Thanks.' Regulus stood up and ruffled James's hair. 'I better get going, Barty doesn't sleep for long.'

'So he was that mysterious someone?' She winked.

'Cedrina, please don't.'

'James, call me Ced, my name is too wierd.'

'All right. Ced.' James smiled. 'I'm going to go now.'

'Bye Jam.'

'Jam?' He chuckled.

'Yeah, bye Jam.'

'Bye Ced.'
