it had been almost two months since dad opened cobra kai. Miguel and I have grown super close, I guess you can call him one of my closest best friends now.

I was sitting at the table with YaYa waiting for Miguel to come out of his room. "Yaya esto huele increíble." (YaYa this smells amazing!) I exclaimed to YaYa as she was taking food out of the oven. I learned some Spanish from Miguel also, I'm not amazing at it but I'm okay!

then Miguel came out of his room and sat down next to me. I smiled and immediately got awkward for no reason. did I catch feelings for Miguel over the past month and a half? maybe... okay yes I did.

Miguel was inhaling his food almost, "slow down Miggy. the food isn't going anywhere!" I laugh teasing Miguel as he smiled back at me.

then carmen unlocked the door, "mira quien esta aquí!" (look who's here.) Yaya exclaimed as carmen walked into the apartment.

"hey guys! Mm, it smells good in here." carmen said placing her purse on a chair.

"hice pollo en salsa de chile" (i made chicken in chilli sauce.) Yaya states standing up.

"I'm sorry I am late again." carmen apologizes kissing miggy's head.

"hey addi!" she greeted rubbing my shoulders. I waved back because I had food in my mouth. "things are crazy at the hospital." she continues.

"it's okay! you're short-staffed. but we saved you some food." Miguel said smiling, Miggy was always so thoughtful of others, especially his mom.

"so, did you two decide what you're going as for the Halloween dance?" carmen asked doing a little dance.

I smiled, "yup I think I'm going as Cher from Clueless!" I exclaimed taking another bite of YaYa's chicken.

"and I was thinking Deadpool, but the costumes a little pricey." Miguel said, he was telling me about that earlier, he was a little disappointed about it. I told him that if we both paid he might be able to afford it but he refused to let me pay.

"Miggy I told you this already. if we split the payment-" before I could finish Miggy interrupted.

"addi and I told you that I dont want you to pay. it's not fair." he finished. I smiled and nodded my head.

"carmen, están tan enamorados" (carmen they're so in love.) Yaya chuckled. I had no clue what she had just said but carmen laughed and nodded her head.

"well anyways. how much is it? I'm sure you and addi should be able to split it." she smiled.

"oh- it doesn't have to be Deadpool."

"you want a Deadpool costume? we will make you a dead pool costume!" carmen slightly yelled excitedly.
Yaya let out a fake laugh.

"no. esto no es una maquiladora." (no. this isn't a sweatshop.) she said making a statement. I cackled at her words, she winked.

"oh Miggy, what happened to your hand?" carmen asked Miguel. crap Miguel.

"um." he started.

"he just banged it on his desk at school after uhm, finding out about that assignment!" I said trying to save his ass.

we were at the dojo and Miguel was rapidly practicing his punches on the dummy. I sat in the corner of the room just watching him. yes, watching him like that.

then dad walked out of his office, "Hey, you two don't happen to have any friends who wanna learn karate-do you?" Miguel and I completely ignoring him, Miggy focused on his punching. I focused on, well, him.
