"what?" I yelled. "hawk. he... he broke Demetris's arm." sam cried from the other line. "shit!" I exclaimed loudly. "I'm coming right now." "dont. It's no use. hawk left and Demetri got his cast." she sniffled.

"Are you ready or what?" my dad asked Miguel who was straddled to a rope attached to the roof. apparently, this was going to help Miguel stand. it was hilarious if you ask me, containing laughs is hard.

"I hate this. this is ridiculous." Miguel complained. "what's ridiculous about it?" "I look like a giant baby!" I then burst laughing, "no. I'm sorry. you dont... you dont look like a giant baby, you look, uh, hot?" I said in between laughs gasping for air, Miguel looked at me and gave a fake smile.

"the way you're whining and not walking, you might as well be a baby." dad stated. "isn't there a more badass way we can do this?" Miguel questioned. "oo can we hold him then drop him and see if he stands?" I asked excitedly. "no. you think tapping your foot at a concert makes you ready for badass training? your legs are still pussies! now, you ready to stand?"

"yes." he whispered. "okay. one, two..." dad started counting down as Miguel exhaled heavily. "you got this." I encouraged. "... three, go." dad finished as he let go of the rope, Miguel slowly toppled to the ground. normally, id be concerned, but, this was just hilarious. I can't take him seriously when he is wearing that, and this is like the twentieth time we have done this.

"all right. better fall that time. let's take five." dad dismissed. Miguel sprawled out on the floor, sighing heavily. I came over and unclipped the rope from his harness, pulling him over to the couch, laying down against him. "you know, uh, my mom's been talking about you a lot recently." Miguel explained as my dad perked his head up from the fridge... instantly.

"oh, yeah?" "she says thank you for taking me to that concert." "she say anything else?" Miguel put his lips together, "no." I looked over at my dad's laptop to see basically a novel. "dad are you writing a novel." I asked chuckling.

"Oh. no, it's a Facebook message." he corrected, "that's a Facebook message?" "that? to who?" Miguel exclaimed. "I, uh... babe from high school."

"oh." Miguel and I said in unison as Miguel scooted closer to the couch. "Ali." dad finished. "holy shit? like Ali, as Ali mills?" I gasped. dad nodded trying to hide a smile. "this is huge. this is huge! this is so..." Miguel cheered, pausing before continuing. "but I mean, you're not gonna send that, right?"

dad just looked at him confused. "you cannot send her that message." Miguel confirmed wide-eyed. "why not?" "because it's, like, eighty pages."

"and in all caps." I jumped in. "I have thirty-five years' worth of stuff to say all right?" dad defended taking the laptop. "yeah but dad. it's a text, not an essay on your life." I snickered. "yeah and shorter messages are way cooler. this just looks desperate." Miguel added. "and a little creepy."
