patients checking up on patients

Zhao woke up to the monitors beeping around him. His vision was blurry as he swore to himself.

"Since when am I the damned patient..." he looked around, just to see the worried Fatty tower in front of him.

"Goddamnit. When the hell will you start taking care of yourself?" He sighed.

"I don't know what happened-"

"All the fucking med school for what? For you to overdose on a substance like a freaking pain killer?" Da Qing was freaking out, not caring about what Zhao would do to him for such an attitude.

"Damn Cat I didn't take anything. I only drank Zhu Hong's coffee." Da Qing was quiet for a second before Zhao's eyes widened, "Get her in here. Immediately."

Zhu Hong sighed, finally Zhao woke up. What did he want now? She was just done with the operation and wasn't really in the mood for his jokes. She opened the door, just to see a weak-looking doctor.

"What the hell were you thinking?!"

"What-"

"You are pregnant goddamnit. You are smart. And then you mix ergotamine into your coffee?! Didn't you hear of a safer way for an abortion?! You would most probably kill yourself and the baby if you'd drink all of that goddamn coffee!"

She stood silent. She nearly fell to the ground as she supported herself against a chair that stood nearby. Two things were unexpected. She told about the pregnancy only to few people and Zhao wasn't one of them. And the coffee? It was the first time her coffee was warm so automatically she didn't like the taste. Now typical of her ex not even to know how she likes her coffee.

"My ex gave me that coffee."

Zhao's eyes widened. He was silent for a second. A second later a string of curse words escaped his mouth.

"THAT SON OF A BITCH"

Zhu Hong didn't say anything for a while. What did she expect from a disgraced, cheating liar?
Most definitely not this. Zhao was stunned by the situation. How could a man be such a coward? How could a man want to kill his own child? If he was ever to become a father, he wouldn't care if he was on bad terms with the mother. He would always support the woman, no matter what.

"Who knew that you stealing my coffee all the time would save me one day." Zhu Hong smiled sadly.

Shen Wei was in his room, researching Sang Zan.

They actually had some progress, nothing huge, but it would help.

"Nikki and Cooper, Zhao's friends, gave me the number of another friend of theirs whos a hacker. He tracked down her cell phone to where it was registered last before turned off." helped him get to Zhao's room.

"I will check the place."

Just before Sang Zan got a call from his client at such a late hour, Shen Wei asked him to help him get to Zhao's room.

What the hell is my patient doing?" Zhao raised his brows as he saw Sang Zan holding Shen Wei's waist. He didn't like that for some reason. Even though he knew that it was for support, he wanted to be the only one holding the male's waist.

"The doctor should indeed check on the patient." Shen Wei joked.

"Uno reverse is what you call that, dumbasses." Sang Zan rolled his eyes, "and you Zhao? How come you made it through med school, but not one day in the hospital?"

Zhao rolled his eyes as he was about to help Shen Wei sit down. He worried for him not to feel any pain while doing so. What kind of a doctor would he be after all if his patient was hurt because of him.

Shen Wei, finally sitting and Sang Zan at his side finally noticed "What were you about to do when you were sitting up?"

"I was on my way to check the patients." Zhao winked, feeling weird as the ways were reversed.

"More like sexually assaulting my 'law partner'."Sang Zan rolled his eyes, "I'm sorry but my client wants to see me now. She's having an emergency."

Zhao whistled.

"I'm not like you. I don't flirt with every client," he said before walking out.

For some reason, Shen Wei felt like he was invading the doctor's privacy. The last comment his partner made, made him feel a bit off. Maybe he shouldn't have come to his bedside. It was after all very private. When he came to Shen Wei, it was always his choice, yet now Shen Wei just appeared.

"Wait, Sang Zan. I think Chief Zhao needs some rest. After all, he seems to be doing fine, could you help me back to my room-"

"No. Stay," Zhao ordered.

"Looks like my friend here wants you to stay.", he grinned, "If you're not getting late to some appointment-"

"Oh fuck you." Shen Wei rolled his eyes at that remark. He could barely walk after all.

After Sang Zan left, Zhao's gaze penetrated Shen Wei.

"So what happened? I heard it was an overdose on some drug-"

"I'm no druggie, Shen Wei," Zhao said instantly. He didn't care about Shen Wei probably thinking he was a playboy, but a drug addict? Hells Nah. Zhao told him what happened and that made Shen Wei scrunch his face.

"You can sue him. Both of you."

Zhao raised his brows. "I keep on forgetting you're a lawyer."

Shen Wei smiled. "I will help you destroy that asshole. After all, if a pregnant lady is involved, the judges are already on their sides."

"You're an angel sent from heaven. Yet if your bill is going to-" He knew good-looking lawyers cost a lot of money. And for this one, he was willing to give out everything.

"Think of it as a present. For you to be able to sleep in comfort." Shen Wei smiled, he was getting better after all and didn't feel as week as a few weeks ago.

"A birthday present and mine didn't even need to happen."

"I mean it's in a few weeks so-"

"How'd you know?Stalkerrrrrrrrr."

"Your hospital card!" Shen Wei defended himself as Zhao laughed at his red face.
