Well this was a waste of my day. They spent almost four hours interviewing me on what exactly happened. I gave them a brief explanation on what happened yet those idiots didn't want it they wanted ever last detail of it.

"Thank you Miss Carter for your time." An officer said opening the door gesturing me to leave the room. Like I had a choice. "We informed your father he should be waiting for you." She states. I quickly look at her like she was crazy.

"And why would you do that officer?" I asks trying my absolute best not to groan. Why do they feel the need to call dad for though?

"Since your not an adult your parent or guardian has to be informed on you belonging." She explains briefly. I didn't even do anything though! They were the once that assist that I come in.

With a long sign I exit the wide room. Scanning the room for dad. Instead I see Mikey sitting down in a chair near an empty desk swinging his legs, looking at the floor like it's the most interesting thing he has even seen.

I approach him, silent for a few moment. What is he doing here? "What's up Mikey?" I smile down at the little boy. Who instantly perks up when he hears my voice.

"Heaven!" He exclaims. "Where were you?" He furrows his eyebrows in questioning.

"They had me locked up in a room for awhile," I roll my eyes dramatically. Mikey giggles softly at my dramatics. "What are you doing here Mikey?" I ask sitting down on an empty chair beside him.

"I'm waiting for my auntie to pick me up." He answers nodding slightly. I look up when I hear footsteps coming towards us. I look up hesitantly and I see dad walking toward me.

"Heaven," he mutters. Looking at me than casting his eyes at Mickey. "And who might you be?" Dad asks in a slightly playful tone.

"I'm Mikey Russel!" He waves excitingly at dad. Who smiles warmly at the little boy.

"Well hello there Mikey," he greets. "I'm Alvaro Carter." He glances at me. "And I pursume you know my daughter Heaven?" He asks. Mickey doesn't answer as he looks behind us.

"Auntie!" He shouts running from his seat. Dad and I both look up at the quick movement. A women in her late thirties tightly hugging Mikey like he would disappear at any moment.

"Where's you mom?" She asks frantically. An officer walks up to the sadly. They stood there quietly taking it all in. She finally looks up noticing us. She slowly walks up to us, looking between dad and I resting her soft gaze on me. "Thank you so much!" She signs. Instead of answering I nod at her. I look down at Mikey, standing up from my seat.

"Well Mikey," I ruffle his hair. "It was nice meeting you little man." He snaps his head towards me when he hears my last comment.

"When can I see you again?" He asks softly. I look at the floor trying to think of something. I grabbed a pen and a post note from the desk near me. Quickly I scribbled my number on it. I lean down slightly towards his level.

"Anytime you feel sad, call me up." I cheer him up. He grabbed the note shoving it into his pocket. Mikey gestures me for me to come close to whisper something in my ear.

"You know I don't have a phone," he jokes slightly. "It's okay I'll use my home phone." He assures. We both look at each other for a moment before bursting out laughing. I quickly said my goodbyes towards Mikey.

"What happened to the man that attempted to abduct the little boy?" Dad cautiously asked the officer we approached. The officer looked between us debating if he should tell us. A moment later he signed giving in.

"We've been investigating this case for over a decade. That man has been abducted children for over fifteen years. We're currently still investigating all the victims and where they are being held." The officer explains. "We're still trying to gain more information out of him. He's going to be locked up for the rest of his life." The officer gives us a sad smile going back to his work.

Dad and I stand still for a moment. He's abducted tons of children. For over fifteen years, around this area. Maybe- no. No, I'm not going to go there. He's gone. I shake me head trying to get rid of that unrealistic thought. I glance at dad. He looks deep in thought. I feel as if he's having the same thought I just had.

I think back to all the events that occurred at the park this morning.

'Well now look at you now'

'Who kidnaps children?'

'I do'
'You should know'

What did he mean by that though? Fucking hell. All this thinking is giving me a damn headache. I sign rubbing my temples in annoyance. Now my pissed off mood from this morning is coming back. Dad looks at me snapping back to reality.

"Heaven," he lets out a breathless laugh. "When I said get some fresh air this isn't what I meant." He joked, cracking a smile. Yet I don't smile back. Everything is just so overwhelming. Every little thing I do it's just leads to bigger issues. I don't even try anything too. Which makes it more aggravating.

"Yeah," I trail off. Tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Well aren't you a hero," dad tried lightening up my mood. Those words just drove me off more. I know he didn't mean anything hurtful. I'm anything but a stupid hero.

"We should get going," I smile lightly at dad. Feeling a little guilty when he frowned when I didn't say anything back. He silently agrees.

"I can walk by myself!" A familiar voice yelled. I looked up only to see Caden coming in through the wide double doors.
