Chase POV

I knew I was bothering him but I just didn't realize how much until the vampire walked into him. I could feel my rage building when he touched him then introduce himself. I smirked slightly thinking that he won't give his name but the smirk instantly disappeared when he grabbed the vampires hand.

I was trembling with the effort not to shift in public. How can a vampire just receive his name on the first meeting when I, who have met him before, was never given the time of day?

'At least you got his name..' a quiet voice whispered.

Yes I had received his name but not the way I wanted. I wanted him to tell me himself not hear it when he speaks to a vampire. i glared at the vampire refusing to refer to that 'thing'  by it's name. After my mate, Seth I reminded myself, the name giving me shivers, walked away the vampire turned and smirked at me. My glare intensified but his smirk only widened.

"Remember this dog. I always get what I want." He spoke before looking in the direction Seth left in. Looking that way I saw Seth just opening the door. Turning, I growled at the vampire when he was still looking at where Seth had been. Hearing me he turned at the sound of my growl. He turned to me before dismissing me by walking away.

Hell no!

Alexander POV

I walked away from the werewolf knowing I won this round. My mate has two hearts in his hands. He can choose to break both or only break one and I am determined that I will have him.

"Aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" an annoying voice brought me out of my fantasy of keeping Seth as my mate... a fantasy which I will make a reality.

"What are you doing here Aiden?" I didn't even turn to look at him.

"I came to see you Alex! Didn't you miss me?" Aiden asked sounding so hopeful... to bad I'm going to crush it.

"No." The answer was automatic.

"Not even a little bit?" At my silence he continued. "You're mean Alex!"

"Only to you." I started walking away from him but he was not having any of it.

"Yay I'm special!" Aiden shouted out happily as he followed me.

"No you're annoying." I deadpanned.

"You're so mean!" Aiden pretended to sob as I rolled my eyes.

"I don't care." I walked even faster as people started staring at us.

"I hate you!" Aiden shouted childishly.

"Feeling's mutual." I heard Aiden stop behind me as I stopped as well.

"Do you really hate me Alex?" Aiden whispered softly.

I turned to look at him. Brown eyes stared at me with such sadness and regret. His black hair spiked upwards as his tanned face looked so hopeful.

"Yes." Tears gathered in his eyes as he looked away yet I felt no remorse.

"Why?" His voice broke as he blinked the tears away.

"Figure it out." I turned and left him there.

Unknown POV

I was dancing again tonight as he came to watch. I knew he came every night but I ignored him.

After finishing I packed up and started to leave and just like every other time he ran after me. It was like he never learns. This time instead of teleporting I walked on.

The bang that accompanied him as he slammed the door open echoed into the night. It seemed as if he was too stunned to follow me as I walked on.

It wasn't long before he got to his senses and started running after me. His footsteps echoed in the still night as he ran to catch me. I could hear his heartbeat pick up as he reached an arm out to grab my shoulder.

When his fingers were just a millimeter from touching me I vanished. I watched as he stumbled after losing his footing.Once he regained his balance he started looking around frantically. As I was about to disappear a long howl sounded not far from where I was.

Chase POV

I lost him again! How could I lose him when he was right in front of me?! I nearly touched him! I got so close to him that I could feel his body heat but then he had to disappear!

A howl broke my inner rant as I looked in the direction from where it came. Not bothering to undress I shifted mid leap as I started running.

'Alpha!' The voice was panicked and hardly distinguishable.

'I'm on my way stay where you are!' A painful howl sounded as I emerged in a clearing. A pup was trapped under a tree with half its body crushed. White fur was slowly turning red as blood flowed from multiple small cuts. Another wolf stood next to the pup and was nuzzling him as the pup whimpered.

Jason's once bright blue were dim with pain and sorrow as I walked to him. As I dew nearer the trapped pup became recognizable. Caleb had just had his first shift last week and because of his bloodline of betas he was stronger than most. Jason whimpered as his brother whined.

"Help him please!" Jason's voice pleaded with me as Caleb whimpered again.

I tried shoving the tree off him but it wouldn't move. Time was running out for Caleb as his bones tried regrowing over and over again but the pressure from the tree stopped him from healing.

Jason started growling so I turned to see the same boy I was following before, emerging from the trees. He walked straight past Jason and kneeled beside me assessing the situation. As he reached a hand out to touch the tree Jason growled even louder and crouched down.

"I cannot help him if you do not let me." His voice was soft and melodious and it seemed familiar but for some reason I could not remember from where.

Reaching forward again he placed his hand on the tree and I watched in morbid fascination as the tree turned into a single flower in his hand but I was brought out of my awe by Jasons' loud cry.

Caleb could not heal in time and now laid dead on the ground covered in his blood. His broken body, mutated and bloody, will always be etched into my memory and the heartbroken howl that Jason released made the scene that much more surreal.

Then the unthinkable happened when the boy placed the flower on the ground and touched Caleb again. A silver glow illuminated the clearing as Calebs' body started to heal. All the broken bones and cuts started healing before Caleb opened his eyes again.

Caleb jumped up and tackled Jason as they rolled around laughing and crying together. I turned back to the boy only to see him gone again. I must find out who he is and thank him.
