When I arrived at school it was the same routine as the day before. I got lost and no one helped me. When I got to class only a few seats were left so I took the one right at the back intending to ignore the class that was making a noise while the teacher was out.

While I sat in my seat I felt someone watching me so I did a quick sweep of the classroom but no one was looking at me. I looked outside and while I was staring into the forest I saw movement from the left. I turned to look and I saw red eyes gazing at me.

I stared back without blinking while everything around me came to a halt as my gaze lingered on the figure in the forest. After I blinked the figure was gone leaving in its wake a single black rose that fell slowly to the ground.

I couldn't think straight all day, my mind constantly on the red eyes gazing at me so intently. I tried coming up with solutions as to how they found me so quickly but I couldn't think of something that made sense.

When the bell for break sounded I rushed out into the hallway. I pushed and shoved people out of my way not caring who it was, my main focus was getting to that rose.

I couldn't get that boy out of my mind. It was almost as if a spell was placed on me and I couldn't break free even if I tried.

The whole night I tossed and turned, trying and failing to get the image of him out if my head but no matter what I did he would not leave my thoughts.

When I arrived at school the next morning something felt off but I couldn't pin point what it was that was bothering me. Nothing looked out of place but I knew better than to judge something by what I see.

Now I was just been a hypocrite. I rejected my mate based on his looks but here I was saying that I don't judge by what I see. These thoughts just confused me more than I already was. The whole day it was as if I was on auto-pilot, I went into my classes and listened to the lessons but as soon as I left to go to my next class I forgot what was the topic.

When the bell for the start of break went, I was the first out of my seat. As soon as I stepped through the door something slammed into me, knocking the breath out of me as I stumbled backwards. Heat exploded where I was touched and I looked up just in time to see my ex-mate sprinting out the door.

Curiosity overcame me so I got up and followed him outside. When I opened the door I saw my mate running to the edge of the forest. Just when I was about to follow him when he stopped right at the edge, starring at something in front of him.

As quietly as I could I walked behind him until I could see what froze him. A single black rose laid on top of a bed of white daisies giving a strong contrast in colour. I couldn't understand why this would be an issue until I smelt them.

Vampires...

Seth POV

I could feel him behind me but I couldn't break my gaze away from the rose. I knew what it ment but I didn't want to acknowledge what was right in front of me.

A black rose. A symbol for royal vampires. They were here...
