Unknown POV

"Everyone pack only what you need! He will leave as soon as he knows that we know his whereabouts! Quickly! This is our chance to capture him!" A loud voice barked out orders into the night as men scurried back and forth bringing bags and loading equipment into vehicles waiting to leave.

"Sir we have everything ready! The men are all set and are awaiting your orders!" A young boy stood at attention.

"Let's move out! The quicker we capture him the quicker we can leave!"

Seth POV

The trick Loki played on Chase was cruel but not misplaced. Never disrespect a God if you want to live.

"I should have killed him!" Loki pulled me from my thoughts.

"I would have. I don't know how you were able to just walk away." He turned and smiled at me.

"That is the difference between us... that and our origins." Loki mused, completely back to normal.

"But not the only difference." I walked away with a smirk on my face.

"What's the other one?" Loki asked, thinking hard as he followed me.

"I am better looking than you..." I said as if it was a passing comment.

"Yeah... wait... what? No! No you're not!" He shouted once he registered what he said.

"You already agreed!" I shouted as I ran away when Loki lunged at me.

"No I didn't!"

"Yes you did!"

"Nah uh!"

"Ah huh!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

I laughed at Loki when he was tricked to agree with me.

"You did not just trick me!" Loki shouted as he tried tackling me but I quickly jumped out of the way causing him to hit a pole.

"Bitch you've been Loony tooned!" I shouted over my shoulder as I ran on.

"Come back here you little pest!" He jumped up and ran after me.

"Tempting but no!" I shouted over my shoulder.

Chase POV

He was just so different around Loki that it was like looking at two different people. He was playful and happy when he was around Loki but he changes with others. I want him to be happy but I also want him to want me which is something I am starting to realise might not happen.

My determination to have him is growing but the challenge he poses is breaking my confidence as everything I do seems to have no effect on him.

I continued to walk home and just as I rounded the corner an urgent voice rang out in my head. 'Alpha!'

I stopped walking as I listened to a flood of voices in my head.

'-hunters-'

'-here-'

'-Alpha!-'

'-captured-'

'-hunters-'

'-pup-'

'-bullet-'

'-gone-'

'-looking-'

'-crazy-'

'-Jason-'

'ENOUGH!' I shouted at my pack members as I closed my eyes to the oncoming headache. 'Tell me what happened.'

It was quiet for a few seconds but then a small quiet voice spoke.

'Hunters were here Alpha... and they took Caleb.'

I froze when she mentioned the name of our youngest pup. 'Jason... Where is he?!'

He can't be let out of our sight! He will go after them alone!

'We have him here Alpha... but it's getting harder to restrain him.' One of my warriors spoke through the link.

'I am almost there... hold him a little longer!' I quickly rushed to the pack house

When I burst into the house I stopped in my tracks. The house was a mess. Tables and chairs were thrown over and broken shards of glass and pottery were everywhere. I could hear the sounds of struggle in another room and I quickly ran towards the commotion.

The first thing that caught my eye was the pile of unconscious bodies in a corner of the room while other pack members stood in a circle, trying to restrain the white wolf in the middle of the room. Loud growls and snarls were heard as I approached the circle. The pack made way for me as I quickly walked up to the shifted wolf. Jason growled low and his ears laid flat against his head in warning when he saw me approach. I ignored the threatening pose and walked closer.

"Shift!" I commanded Jason but he just growled at me.

"Jason I am warning you! Shift now!" Jason looked down before the sounds of bones breaking filled the room. He slowly lifted his head to look at me. His brown eyes were glossy with unshed tears.

"I was supposed to protect him..." He choked out as the first tear fell.

"You tried Jason and he knows it." I brought Jason into a hug as he started sobbing.

"I couldn't do anything! He was my responsibility! I should have fought harder! I should hav-"Jason started shouting as he shook as rage started consuming him.

"There was nothing you could have done." I cut him off. "We will find him and bring him back safely."
