'Am I meant to believe that nothing happened.' Tiago deadpanned.
'That's all I have to say.' I rested in my silence.
Telling my boyfriend's twin brother about a guy I had feelings for wasn't something you see on a daily. Therefore, my dilemma.
'He couldn't have just walked out at midnight for no reason.' Tiago pushed.
I thought over the consequences of telling him about it. My pro was that no one would actually know that the reason why all this was happening was because of me. My con was that I would've lifted a weight off my shoulders and lessened my guilt. I would've halved my worries. Deciding to tell him, I released a heavy sigh and proceeded to tell him everything.
'You mean Riker the owner of RECSaM company?' He asked. I nodded to which Tiago furrowed his eyebrows. 'Wait, is he the guy you were sitting next to on the plane?' I was surprised that he remembered but once again, I nodded.
'Tell me.' Is all Tiago needed to say before I started telling him all about Riker and I's relationship. I told him everything from the moment we saw each other on the plane until the previous day when he walked out on me.
'Woah.' Tiago replied baffled.
I felt a weight lift off my shoulders now that somebody knew my point of view and how I felt.
'I'm sorry for being so clueless all this time. About you, Eldon and Riker. It must've been very hard for you to go through all that alone.' He apologized though he didn't need to. 'No you don't have to apologize. It's also my problem for double timing.' I accepted.
Tiago and I were conversing when a familiar car screeched into the parking lot. Two men, one younger than the other ran in through the hospital doors. I watched from the park bench as the same men ran out looking around for something. When their eyes landed on us, they began to run towards our direction. As they neared, I realized that the men were my brother, Riley and one other man I had mixed feelings about; my dad.
Without a second thought, I stood from the bench and jumped into Riley's arms. After a long hug, we pulled apart and the first thing I did was land a punch on Riley's stomach. 'Ugh.' He groaned as he clenched his gut.
'What was that for?' he questioned.
'Why didn't you answer my call when I really needed y..' I refrained from asking the question.
'What was that?' He quizzed.
'Uhm nothing.' I said with a slight chuckle.
'No, it was surely something. Did you say you needed me?' he asked getting cocky.
'Nope, I wouldn't say need exactly.' I retorted with a toothy grin. I felt content talking to my brother after a very long time. But my mood instantly soured when I saw the man who had accompanied him.
'Mr Damaris.' I said acknowledging my dad like the dad he wasn't. He looked away almost on the brim of tears but not saying anything.
'You don't have to be here just because of what happened to Eldon. If you think I need you, I don't. I'm doing just fine.' I spoke malevolently.
'Daisy.' Riley glared at me giving me the parent eyes. It was ironic how Riley was more of a parent than my dad was. I glared back at him mystified that he wasn't taking my side but rather my parents'.
'Be nice.' He whispered in my ear. I narrowed my eyes at him clearly not on board with the idea.
I figured that a plane ride plus a car ride with the man who called himself my father would totally brainwash Riley. I pulled Riley aside for a sibling talk leaving Tiago and my dad at the park bench. We walked a distance away from them in silence until we reached a place where no one else was around.
