Look out for your heart child, it is a precious little thing. The fragile soul of yours doesn't need a breaking.
Alyssa remembered the exact words of her grandmother. She was thirteen when she heard her grandmother pass on the magical words to Aurora. Aurora was soon going to be touching a milestone, she was going to be eighteen. She needed the wise words and no one was better than the Pearson Grand lady to explain the meaning of life to her first granddaughter.
Alyssa stood by her grandmother, smiling at the wrinkled yet beautiful face of the old lady. She was Alyssa's First Ladylove and then came Aurora.
Only if Alyssa knew back then that these words would define her life more than Aurora's right now. She failed to look out for her heart, she let it slip away and in all of the confusion of trusting and understanding people, she let them break her heart.
"Hey."
She opened her eyes and met with him standing by the bed with a tray in his hand.
She passed him a weak smile. Right then he knew, she was not okay. Her eyes were red, swollen.
He sat on the edge of the bed and placed the tray in front of her. He had prepared Tomato soup with grilled cheese toast. She looked at him and couldn't help herself but admire his beauty. How could he be so generous?
"Thank you."
She said and took the tray to herself. The delicious smell of the soup had lightened her head already. With one sip of the soup, she knew she had tasted heaven. The last time as well, he prepared the best chicken noodle soup and she thought nothing could beat that one. But she was proved wrong, this soup instantly calmed her body.
"Oh, God. This is so great." She declared. He passed her a smile. He was glad she liked the soup. He prepared it just the way she liked.
She offered him to have some as she felt awkward about having the whole meal to herself. He shook his head. He typed a message to Jordan while she ate her grilled cheese toast. He wanted to make sure that all of the work was put on halt because he had to be with her. He knew she needed him.
"Why are you here, Alyssa?"
He asked. He couldn't stop himself. He had to know, she didn't look fine when she knocked at his door. She looked pale, worn out.
She looked up to meet her gaze with his and she knew she had to spill out the truth. She came here so that she could have someone with her, she needed him to be the one.
