So. Editing. Turns out it can be a lengthy process. Particularly when said editing is performed by yours truly. As those of you around long enough to have borne witness to any part of my alleged writing "career" would no doubt testify, finishing stuff is not really one of my strengths. Two attempts at novellas that wound up as fully-fledged novels kind of bear testament to that.
As does this particular tome's sorry tale of interruptions and woe. Well, mostly interruptions. Not so much woe. Unless it's the, "Whoa, still no update?" kind.
My point (yes, I do have one) being that editing The Four Baristas of the Apocalypse prior to its publication is taking longer than I thought. Quite a lot longer. Hence the complete and utter absence of any further updates for poor old, neglected and unloved Double Shot.
But on the bright side, slow progress does not equate to no progress. Of 4BA's fifty-five chapters and an epilogue, I've edited the first forty-one chapters. So, the finishing line is in sight. Particular given that by the time I'd written the later chapters I was less bad at the whole writing caper than I was for the early chapters, hence I now spend less of my editing time hiding under the desk, sobbing, or refilling my wine glass.
So, we're getting there, people. And as I have previously finished four novels, we know I'm at least technically capable of finishing this one. That's comforting.
Isn't it?
