Madison kneels down infront of me, holding her phone.
"You're worried about him, aren't you?" she sneers, and I nod. I'm already her puppet so I may as well keep on being it. And secretly, yes, I am worried about Alex, why hasn't he come here yet. He should be here. I called out to him. "I'm going to ring him and I will let you talk to him. But, you cannot say anything about you feeling unsafe or scared, okay? Otherwise," she points at Peter and that's when I realise he's holding a knife. I gulp and slowly nod. Basically, she was going to ring Alex and all I had to do was lie to him, sounds easy enough, but I didn't like the sound of it.
He answers the call, and Madison makes it sound like it's her ringing him, which in a way it is, I didn't have a choice with this whole thing really. She holds the phone in-front of me and beckons Peter closer, where he can reach me if I say the wrong thing. My hands are shaking and my heart is pressing hard against my ribcage.
"Alex," I begin, though I don't know what else to say. How do I tell him I'm in danger without directly saying I'm in danger? "Alex, I can't talk for long so I have to make this quick. Just don't worry about me, I'm sure I'll be fine. If you are coming to get me, please bring me an apple pie from your mum's cafe, I'd love that. Okay, bye." Madison hangs up and nods approvingly.
"Great job," she says. "Lucky we didn't have to use this," she points to the knife, "we'll save it for later. Now let's get going."
"Get going?" Brayden asks. "Why? Where are we going?" Madison looks at him incredulously.
"Are you f*cking kidding me? Where were you the whole time we explained the plan d*ckhead?" she screams, and in response Brayden says, "are you sure we can use that language around the kid?" He nudges his head in my direction. Madison turns around and looks at me. Her eyes flick to Peter and then back to me.
Peter kneels on the ground in-front of me.

"Now, let's see what he's taught you. Let's hear all the 'bad' words you know. Because you look like an absolute angel, but I hope that you're heart belongs to the devil." My mind is racing. All twenty-nine pairs of eyes are on me, waiting for my response.
"I actually learnt quite a lot of them from you, Madison," I say, and Peter responds, "it doesn't matter who you learnt them from, just tell us what you learnt."
There were a whole heap of them, but they were usually used in anger, and they felt kind of wrong to say.
"Uhh, well, there's umm b*tch. Peter, you called me that earlier. Uhh, d*ck," the word that Alex used to describe himself in the apology yesterday. "Madison, you just called Brayden a d*ckhead so I know that one, sh*t was the word that Brayden used to describe Xavier. And uhh," I felt so uncomfortable doing this whole thing but I could tell they were waiting for the word I hadn't said yet. It sounds like one of the worst ones and I don't really want to say it. "That's it," I say.
"No it's not," Peter smirks. "There's one more. We all know that you know it, because he's been teaching you bad things, Sweetie. C'mon, we won't tell anyone, just say that one word and I'll... I'll, what will we do, Mads?"
"And we won't bring the knife with us."
"Fine," I agree, rolling my eyes. They had me wrapped around all twenty-nine of their fingers and they knew it. "And the last word is-" I'm interrupted by a voice that doesn't belong to anyone in the circle.
"Go to f*cking hell, every single one of you! You've taken this way too far, let her go."
