"Kit! Wait!" Tory called out as she hurried after Kit once practice was over. Kit was holding a ice pack Miguel got her to her face as she hurried out of the dojo, "God, would you just stop!"
"You could have said no!" Kit shouted as her, more hurt mentally then physically, "I would have never hurt you like that, no matter what old man was breathing down my neck."
"It's not like I actually wanted to." Tory scoffed as Kit threw her bag into the passengers seat. Tory grabbed her arm quickly, "Hey, i'm talking to you."
"You could have done some real talking ten minutes ago." Kit glared as she pulled herself into the car and sped off out of the strip mall.
"You're late." Johnny scolded Kit as she walked through the woods toward the group, "Where were you?"
"Traffic jam." Kit said as she glanced around at the two different rows that were lined up, "Are we playing Red Rover?"
"You're on red team, fall in." He demanded her, tossing the red headband at her chest. Kit stood by Aisha as she tied it around her head, glancing over to see Tory standing besides Miguel, staring at her.
"Gentleman, Ladies." Kreese spoke as he eyed each of the teams, "Welcome to Coyote Creek. You've been split into two teams. Red.. and black. The goal is to capture as many headbands as possible from the other side. Today, the people across from you are not your friends."
Kit and Tory eyed each other.
"They're not your brothers." Kreese added in, eyeing his team, "They are the enemy. Last team standing wins."
"How do we get the headbands?" Miguel questioned from the other side of Tory.
"By any means possible." Kreese said confidently, "No rules."
"Use your judgment. This is just a training exercise." Sensei Lawrence added in with a knowing look toward each of the students.
"Correct, but remember, this is your life." Kreese spoke as he held up the headband. "You lose it... you die."
"Hey, guys! Sorry i'm late!" Raymond said as he hurried over, his beard tied in a thin point. Kit gave him a odd look as she nudged Aisha, silently asking her to help tighten the headband around her head, "Traffic on the 118 was a real bitch. Put Coyote Creek into the nav. Nothing came up."
"What have you done to yourself?" Johnny asked what everyone had been thinking.
"Oh, the...yeah, you know what, I just decided to flip the script. Hawk-Style." he spoke confidently while pulling off his sunglasses. Kit snorted slightly, getting smacked in the back of the head by Hawk, "Hererofore, you can refer to me as Stingray."
"Yeah, Stingray!" Kit clapped for him.
"Yeah, all right, Chubs. He's on your team." Johnny said as he looked to Kreese knowingly.
