Eli's mom had always liked Kit, mainly because Eli never told her that Kit turned into a bully, only ever that they'd drifted. So, when the girl needed a place to stay, she had a place to stay. The basement had a bed moved into it, all Kits stuff from her apartment currently in it. She hugged her mom goodbye, saying she'd see her after the All Valley, and watched her catch the next flight to Colorado. And now Kit was here, living with the Moskowitz', soaking up the large basement that she got to herself most of the time.

She did this every year, refusing to sleep before twelve rolled around, her birthday. Before they were robbed, Kits parents would bring her a balloon and have her blow out a lit lighter until later that day. But, that was before. They were never perfect, her mom still forced her into bad diets and her dad still was a sketching little bitch, but they were happy sometimes, just sometimes. And her birthday was always one of those days.

Not this year.

Kit gave a small smile when she saw the time flip to twelve, staring at her phone in the dark room. "Happy birthday."

As if on que, a message came though. Tory was the last person Kit expected to hear from this late, on today of all days. Hitting her name, her contact name still having a pink heart next to it, Kit opened the message.

Happy Birthday. Don't worry about the drive in, no one's gonna ruin your birthday.

Kit trusted Tory's word, even if she knew she shouldn't. Something about the text, something about how quick she sent it, how she was up this late when she never was, it sparked something in Kit. She missed Tory, she craved any form of look, any form of attention from her. She missed her girlfriend, her girlfriend that was still there, just blinded by the wrong people.

Kit had became her own person without Tory, and she was happy about it. She knew how to stand up for herself now in a way that didn't have to cause violence, she joined the cheer team again, she embraced her inner self that she was always scared Tory wouldn't like. She totally did, Tory always liked Kit, she'd like her always, even when she was fighting with Miyagi Do, she'd still love her.

Thing was, Kit knew that. That's what was different about them. Kit would love Tory either way, even mean like this, even on the wrong team. But she wouldn't take her back when still fighting for Cobra Kai, no matter if she wanted to. Tory would take Kit back, even with Miyago Do, only because she knew she could convince her to leave. That's what was wrong, it wasn't Kit, it wasn't Tory, it was the stupid karate war between their separate teams.

Thank you.

Kit stared at her phone, seeing the little bubbles. She sat up quickly, her body feeling hot, her heart racing, not being able to sit still.

Tory: You gonna get a christmas theme cake?

It made Kit laugh, her phone screen lighting her entire face up.
