Gajeel's POV

It had been days since Levy was put into hospital. Even though the doctors expected her to wake up the day after, she was still asleep in her comatose state. I knew that they said it would be the earliest, but they never said how long would be the latest.

The petite girl lay in the bed with the same oxygen mask as the first time I saw her in this condition. Her bandages had been changed earlier on that day, the last time I looked at the clock on the wall it said it was 9:45 in the morning. My gaze wouldn't shift from her direction in fear of her slipping away without me noticing.

The chair I was sat in was pulled up close to the bed, to the side of Levy.

"Gajeel? Have you seriously been sat there this whole time?" A girl voice called out. "Haven't you slept? Showered?"

"What do you want Wendy?" I asked.

"I'll watch Levy for a while, it's 6 in the evening. Go home, eat, get some rest and come back tomorrow." She said as she dragged a chair beside mine. "Juvia was discharged two days ago, she's worried about you and Levy but she's not allowed to leave the house because of her injuries."

"But the doc said-,"

"Turns out she didn't tell Juvia that she had to stay in bed for another week." Wendy put her hand on my arm and smiled. "Go home. I'll make sure she's okay."

Reluctantly, I stood up and grabbed my coat. "If anything happens, like her heart rate increases or decreases slightly, call me and I'll come running."

"For a fake marriage, you really do care for her."

"You know..,?"

The young girl twiddled her thumbs. "I overheard you the other day, talking to her. You were confessing, and that made me confused. But I understood when you were talking about a 'fake marriage', this one right?"

I nodded.

"To be honest, I think you two suit each other."

"Really?"

"Yes, the scary big guy and the lovely lady."

"Thanks, I think..."

Wendy grinned and then focused on Levy and her heart monitor. She started talking to her, explaining how she became such a successful businesswoman and why she joined me and Natsu in our business friendship. In my opinion, she made it seem happier than it actually was. Her version involved happy smiling people whereas the truth was sad people when we crushed their businesses.

Making my way down the busy corridors, I quickly called the estate to let them all know that I was returning home shortly.

"Hello, Redfox residence. Who is speaking?"

"It's me."

"Oh, Sir Redfox. Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, I'm coming back."

"Would you like someone to come pick you up?"

"No, I'll walk."

"Very well Sir, we shall prepare a meal for your return."

Locking my phone, I exited the hospital and walked down the roads to get back to my home. There were street lights which didn't work and so I was left alone in the dark, nothing I wasn't used to.

On my way back, I bumped into a gang who I recognised.

"Death Streak? You guys are still in Fiore?"
