Chapter 6: Rival?

PART 1

"I am Z-Zuka, who are you?", he said.

"How old are you?", I asked.

"I just told you m-my name, you answer my q-question f-first."

"Oh okay, I am Nova, I am seventeen, nice to....meet you.", I said.

"Oh, I am seventeen as well! Let's be f-frie—...", his volume went from normal to mute as he said the last word of his sentence.

"Let's be?"

"Frie—..."

"I can't hear you, what'd you say?", I asked since I genuinely couldn't hear what he said.

He went inside the pile again and a random book from the revolving ones came flying towards me and hit my face. That hurt.

"Hey! I just came in here by mistake! I am not an enemy just calm down.", I said while nursing my nose.

I could hear someone running towards us. The footsteps got louder. The door behind me opened with such force that if flung me to the ground. I nursed my nose yet again. At least the floor had a soft carpet on.

"Zuka! Are you okay? My button was glowing.", said Ruze-san who sounded concerned. She was panting.

"Ruze-san! Who is this?", said Zuka.

"Oh so Nova-kun finally met Zuka-kun, I am sorry if he misbehaved in front of you Nova-kun. You see, he is a bit shy towards the new people he sees. I am mostly the only one he sees besides Yuro-san so he is pretty comfortable when I am around. He lives in here although the entire library is his room.", said Ruze-san while wiping dust off her floral apron.

The whole library was his room?! Me and Husky here are sharing a single room which has just enough space to fit two beds and this guy has a two-storey room filled with rows and rows of books?!

"Wait, so the library wasn't built for Husky?", I asked.

"Huh? Why would it be built for me? On top of that, I buy all the books I need with my own money because the ones here are too hard to read.", said Husky who was behind Ruze-san.

This library was his room and the books here are hard for Husky to read?! This guy must be a total nerd! Well, I say that and I myself was involved in long hour studies before I got sent here. At least my nerdy level wasn't this high!

"Shauna was looking for you Nova, apparently she wanted to show something to you and Alexia.", said Husky while looking at the floating books. He seemed to be interested into the books Zuka was reading.

"It's almost time for dinner you all so why not go and eat some? Zuka-kun, why don't you try eating with these guys? They are nice people y'know, There age is just like yours so why not become friends with them?", said Ruze-san while patting Zuka's head.

This guy totally needs high maintenance. Being an introvert is pretty hard I guess. He looked like a 100% introvert type guy to me but having another squad-mate doesn't hurt, eh? He seems to have a lot of knowledge about things he reads about so he can surely help us out with a lot of things.

"Okay now for hurting Nova-kun, apologize to him Zuka-kun.", said Ruze-san.

I feel like this is turning into a 5-year old's fighting incident. I said it was okay since I was a complete stranger to him and it might have scared him. I was surprised to see this side of Ruze-san. This morning she played with Shauna's feelings and now she is making a 17 year old boy apologize like a 5 year old. I sighed.
