Chapter 4: The Business In The Forest, Part 1

PART 1

I woke up this early in the morning for the first time —well, maybe not the first time since day before yesterday I woke up pretty early as well because of the issues that the big men created out of the murder case— intentionally because I wanted to actually explore the base. The clock hit the 5 am mark and it was slowly getting bright outside —or so I think because I can't really see the outside since we don't have windows in our base, everything is lit up with lights 24/7. Now that I think of it, where does he get the infinite electricity from? Did he make a custom generator? Our boss sure has some handy skills to be honest.

Alexia was still sleeping and so was Husky. I saw Shauna's door unlocked so I guess she is awake right now. I took a little sneak peek into her room and to my surprise it was actually vibrant instead of being gothic if you know what I mean. I thought that I might as well enter the room to look for some 'goodies'. By goodies I don't mean her underwear, I mean if she has anything related to Husky in her room so that I could give good news to Husky. Wait...if I give the yet to be seen good news to Husky, he will ask me how I got to know of it, eventually he will find out and brand me as a sneaky pervert. If I take Alexia's name, he might ask her and my cover would be blown, so I might as well not tell him anything.

Luckily she wasn't in her room. The room gave me cozy vibes for some reason as if it was my 100th time entering this room though it was my first time entering it.

"Pardon the intrusion.*", I said knowing that no one will hear me here.

*here the phrase 'ojamashimasu' was used.

Her walls were custom painted with mountains as the theme. This girl likes her aesthetics huh? Her room seemed much more advanced than the one I was sharing with Husky which used to be his personal room. She had a white desk with an artificial plant right next to her lamp which looked pretty good. I didn't expect the demon to have such tastes —which turns out to be pretty clean in my opinion—. She had a lot of figurines, I guess she made them herself since they looked like the people at our base. I saw Husky's and Alexia's as well but not mine. She definitely holds a grudge against me.

I was looking around and I saw that she had a sculpted draft of someone. There was a note underneath it. Luckily, I could read at least a little bit of it since Husky taught me the basics of their language —it's called 'Thulius'. There are two types scripts in their language which include simple and complex scripts —or that is what I call them— and the complex one is hard. It's basically English but with different letters used in different ways. The note had both simple and complex script letters so I could read a little bit.

"His figu__, I need to ma__ it perfec_ so that I can show it to hi_. I hope he li__ it. I need to show Alexia's figu__ as well.", is what I could read from the note.

I guess she was making someone's figurine and she going to show it to 'him', whoever it is. When is she going to make mine? She is already going to show Alexia hers. Anyway, I was looking around for more 'clues' but I couldn't really find anything. I didn't want to open her closets since I am NOT a pervert. I saw that she a locket like thing on her bed which had a red, kite shaped jewel like thing. It looked pretty good but I never saw her wear it before. Well, of course there was a pair of leggings —with straps of course— on her bed but these were translucent. I totally didn't touch them or play with the straps.

I could hear footsteps now. Shauna was definitely coming back to her room to do something. I hid under the bed as soon as possible and I was against the wall just in case if she noticed. Shauna entered the room, closed the door and sighed.

"Where is does he vanish so early in the morning?", said the demon, frustrated.

Was she looking for me? Or probably someone else.
