"I am not quite sure. I had told Father that I refused to marry and he agreed. Quite odd isn't it?" questioned Joyce.
"Father doesn't seem like the type to agree to that sort of thing."
"He is like that. His ways are perplexing, not to say the least. Father makes some questionable choices. Remember when he decided to put our shipment of fabric right next to the kitchen? A butler tripped on one of the bolts and spilled the tray of tea he was holding. It was a disaster. That's why I am in charge of shipments pertaining to our things."
"I understand your point there but marriage? I still don't know why he won't marry you off."
