INSTALLMENT ONE
Ding! My doorbell rings as I set down my bowl of popcorn on my coffee table. I leave my living room and walk to the front door. I open it. A misshapen package sits upon my porch. I scan my surroundings for any sign of the person that left it. I had never ordered anything so why would it be there?
Who left this here? And why at this time? It's so dark out...
A sudden rustle in the bush to my left, disturbs my quiet neighborhood. I step over the package as I go to see what caused the noise.
Nothing, there's nothing there.
I return to my porch, grab the package, and take one last look around.
Absolutely nothing. Odd, I could've sworn I heard something.
A light flickers down the street. It flicks four times, stops, and then flicks again for another two.
The streetlight sucks, I should report that later.
I walk back into my house and lock the door. The package, which looked quite light, turned out to be so heavy. I toss it on my kitchen table and make my way back to the living room. Some PBS children's show is on, so I go to change the channel.
Right before I do so, a special broadcast appears on the T.V. The letters I,D, and S flash on in bright red.
Hm... What is this? Who's the I.D.S?
Hello. If you are reading this, that means that something has intruded your connection. Please call 879-443464-669 to help fix your problem. We assure you that it is in your best interest to call now.
A quick message appears...
They are approaching you... RUN!
As fast as the second message appeared, it disappeared a second after, not giving me a chance to read it. The broadcast ended with the same letters I.D.S.
-.. . .- - .... .. ... .- .--. .--. .-. --- .- -.-. .... .. -. --. .-.-.- - .-. -.-- - --- .-. ..- -. .-.-.-
After a few hours of binge watching horrible comedy movies, I tire out and something pops back into my head.
I.D.S. What does that mean again? Where did I see it?
I slowly walk towards my bedroom to search it up on my computer.
Thud! I jump, alarmed by a loud crash. It came from my kitchen. I turn back and make my way toward the kitchen.
Upon arrival, I notice the package on the floor. One light is on, the light above my kitchen table. The mustard fluorescent color shines on the package, highlighting the weird shape. A single line of red tape lays off center upon the top, as if to cover a rip. I squat to observe the oddness of it. I flip it over and on the backside there is a label.
Addressed to————————, I don't know that name. Interesting.
I rip open the package.

I yawn in exhaustion.
Today has been a long day. Time to clock out.. but before that I need to turn on my heater.
In my bedroom, I turn on my space heater, change into pajamas, and jump into my bed.
..--- .... --- ..- .-. ... .-..
Beep... Beep...Beep! I wake up to the annoying beeps of my alarm clock. I look outside. It's darker than earlier.
What time is it?
Beep... Beep... Beep! The stupid clock. I slam my hand down on the snooze button. The force from my hand and the hardness of the plastic, leaves my hand stinging after I hit it. I get up, groggy. I trudge down my hallway, a blanket covering my shoulders. It is surprisingly cold in my house.
I swore I put the heater on before I went to sleep.
I turn it back on. I go to my kitchen to make tea. Warm tea that can save me from this cold.
While the water starts to boil, I start a flame in my fireplace.
Nice, my hands are red and shivering. I should have taken my mom's offer to go to the beach house.
Whiiiiiiiiiiiieeeee! The water finished.
The kettle is hot, scorching even. Must make no mistake
