"Jessie," Micheal frowned, wiping the tears off of his face, "Can we talk for a second... please?"
Dragging her off into the corner of the room, He looks at her soft, pink face, his tail swaying frantically from side to side.
"I know you're only trying to help, but why are you doing this? We all need you here- I need you here. I-"
Jessie rested her paw on his shoulder, looking him in the eyes, "I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing it for myself. In my 2 years of living, I've been lied to and mistreated by my mother, only to find out that I'm just her clone."
He searched for the words to say to her, glancing around the room, "I-Is this why you're wanting to do this? For revenge?... Jessie, you're so much better than this."
"I don't need you to tell me what I'm better than-" She took her hand off his shoulder, "I'm going through with this whether you agree or not."
As she started to walk back to the group, he felt his world start to crumble. All of the months they had laughed and made jokes together at lunch, all of the times they had talked about their feelings or shared secrets... Obviously they didn't matter to her, so he thought.
As she continued to take more steps away from him, he saw everything turn to darkness around him, with Jessie being the only light he saw. But eventually, she slipped into the darkness, too.
Tears began rolling down his face, "Fine then. If you want to throw your life away all because of something that happened in your past, then go ahead! I don't care. You're not the Jessie I knew anymore. But if you're wanting me to be there for your 'divine transformation', then you shouldn't get your hopes up. I'm leaving."
The others stared at him while Mary jumped up, her arms crossed, "You can't leave! You're the only one with transportation!"
"I meant I wasn't going to stay here. I'll go on a walk or something."
Once Micheal walked out of the door, Jessie sniffled, beginning to bawl. "I never wanted to hurt you, Micheal..." she thought, wiping the tears from her cheeks. But the rain kept pouring like a never-ending waterfall.
Gregory looked down at Jessie, hands on hips, "Do you still want to go through with this? It may be tough, but I can still do Lizzie instead."
She shook her head, "N-No, I can do this. For the sake of your goddesses or whatever. Is there anything I should know before I do so?"
He tapped his chin, "Well, I should tell you your duties as Ruler of the Multiverse, I suppose-" cracking his knuckles, he made a few signs with his hands, closing his eyes as he did so. When he opened them again, his eyes were completely white, glowing on top of that, "-The Ruler must keep track of every timeline and universe ever made. Since universes are constantly being made, so it can be a bit of a tricky job. Which is why you will be granted the power of knowledge to know when, what, where, and why things are happening."
He showed a hologram of the throne that was to be sat on by the Chosen One, revealing small specks in front of the throne that resembled stars in a way.
"Those white specks are all universes, each and every one of them unique. The Ruler will be in a state of paralysis, in a way: never changing appearances, never feeling the time pass by. Thousands of years will pass by in mere minutes. You will be immortal."
Jessie frowned, "Immortal? So I will have to endure this forever?"
He nodded, "It's not as bad as it seems. There are meetings to go to, you never have to worry about gaining or losing weight... You wouldn't have to worry about anything."
