"So," Mary stood on the front porch, holding Lizzie's hand, "How are we possibly going to walk 200 miles and make record time?" She said sarcastically.
Michael, who was already pretty stressed, turned to the blonde with an exhausted look, "I'm trying my best to figure this out." He ran a hand through his curly hair, letting out a sigh. "Does anyone here have a drivers license?"
All the girls -- even Lizzie -- looked at him, confused.
Jessie put her paws on her pink hips, trying not to laugh, "So, you're telling me you're in college and don't have a driver's license? How did you get to class this far out?"
Blushing, he stuck his hands into his hoodie pocket, "This isn't the time to make fun of me for not getting my license. Just-" he exhaled, "-does anyone here have one?"
Mary nodded, "Yeah, I do."
Jessie agreed, pulling out her wallet.
"Alright, now who's willing to drive?"
Even though she had just transformed, Jessie wanted to prove she was up for any task that came her way. She wanted to prove thar no one needed to worry about her.
Taking in a deep breath, she let out a consonant before Mary interrupted and said she would.
"Wait- what?" Jessie shook her head, her ears flopping a bit, "I can drive. Don't you need to take care of Lizzie?"
At that moment, Lizzie was staring at the two of them.
"As much as I would absolutely love to, you just turned into a marshmallow peep. What if the transformation isn't completely over and you start transforming behind the wheel? I don't want anyone to get hurt."
Her eyes widened, she looked at both Micheal and Mary, who had the same looks in their eyes. "B-But I can do it! Even if I do start transforming again, I can just suppress it like I did before and-"
"And what?" Mary stepped down from the porch, Lizzie following swiftly behind like a puppy, "Last time you 'suppressed' it, you went through hell and transformed -- probably the most painfully I've ever seen someone transform..." She furrowed her eyebrows convincingly, "Who knows what could happen next. We need to be safe and make sure no one will get hurt."
Knowing she was defenceless, she stood back, "Alright," she said quietly, "I'll watch Lizzie in the back."
"...Alrighty then," Micheal held his breath, "Uh, so I have the car in the back. Fortunately, my parents left us the SUV, so there's plenty of space."
"Awesome," Jessie walked behind him, holding her arms. Even though she was mad, Mary did make good points. She just didn't want to believe them.

They were on the road for about 15 minutes. Mary was driving, Micheal was in the front seat, and Lizzie and Jessie were in the back, all while Disney music played softly in the background.
Lizzie kept poking at Jessie's ears, curious.
She turned to her, "Lizzie, please stop."
Lizzie looked at her, tilted her head, and looked out of the window.
Scoffing, Jessie looked out of the window, as well. All she saw was the open country side. Fields of yellow wheat with the forest behind it, barbed wire fences... But something caught her attention.
For a split moment, she could've sworn she'd seen her mother standing in the field, staring, as the car passed her by. Had she found them that fast?
