The birds were chirping, the sunlight was shining through the window, and Hailey's alarm was sounding off, jolting her awake out of bed. She fell to the floor by accident, lifting up to turn her alarm off. Until she hit her head on her nightstand. Unexpectedly, she heard something rather hard hit the underside of this table. She looked up at the bottom of the stand to see what it was but found nothing but the ordinary wood, bolts, and screws.
"Odd..."
She then gets up and strolls on over to the half-bathroom. Her bedroom had a rather weird layout. Not only was her bedroom the only room in the upstairs part of the house, but it also had a half-bathroom to the left right as you opened the door.
As she opens her bathroom door, she looks into the mirror. She nearly screamed at the sight she saw. It wasn't her bed hair. In the mirror, she saw -- at the top of her head -- two, small, stubby horns.
"Oh, no," she felt them, just to make sure they were real, "This cannot be happening!"
Rushing out of her bathroom, she sprints over to the left side of her bed, grabbing a hat off of her wall to hide her newly-grown horns. She then goes to her closet and picks out a dress that matched the hat, just so nothing looked too suspicious.
She sighs, "I guess that'll do..."
"Hailey!" Her mother yelled from the kitchen, once again, "Get down here please!"
She ran as fast as she could down the stairs, tripping on the last two steps and falling on her face. She'd managed to also, somehow, hurt her chin.
"Oh, my God, not again!" She rushed over to her daughter, "Hailey, are you ok?"
"Yeah I'm fine. I think something broke my fall..."
She glanced down to see what had saved that rest of her face from certain doom, only to see her breasts had increased in size, now C cups, instead of her usual A's.
"Gah!" She attempted to get up as fast as possible, not used to her breasts jiggling this much.
Her mother stepped back, "Hailey, you've been acting strange lately," She laid a hand on her daughter's shoulder, "Is everything ok?"
"Yeah- Yeah," She fixes her tilted hat, straightening her dress, "Everything's fine."
She stared at her daughter in concern for a moment before backing away from her, "Anyways, this guy named Ethan came over to see if you were available. Is he a friend or something?"
Ew, Ethan? She thought. He's so weird...
"What did he want?" Hailey asked, taking a bagel from the pantry and chewing on it.
"Well," Her mother started, stirring something in a pot, "he came to see if you could hang out, so I told him as soon as you wake up and everything. I figured you'd wanna do that more than go to some lousy dinner party."
Hailey, who was stoked on getting to skip the Fennec's dinner party, was also very annoyed that this is what she had to do to get out of a dinner party. Ethan, to her and almost everybody at the university, was an oddball. He always talked about the weirdest TV shows and tried getting in on everyone's conversations. How the two of them became friends is beyond even her.
"Yeah, very true," She gave her mother a hug, "I guess I'll come back over later on."
At that, she kissed her mother goodbye, then slowly walk down to Ethan's house, of all things. She crossed her arms, thinking: This is dumb- no, lame. But I guess as long as I don't get to go to that stupid party, I am a-okay... Maybe. Hopefully.
