Thank god I live alone. I could bleed as much as I wanted and no one would find out. Not anymore, not with my accelerated healing, or so I thought.
After a long day doubling as Barry Allen, forensic scientist and The Flash, I needed to breathe, to feel something again. So I did the only thing I knew how, I went to the bathroom and got the blade. I held my breath as I made the first slice. I let go of the breath and felt the familiar euphoria... and the longing. The longing for more. So I obliged. I feed the addiction.
I sliced and sliced. I cut away the fear I felt at almost losing that little girl from the bullet, the sickness I felt at investigating the murder of the girl's family. I cut all of it away.
With every red line the blade drew on my thin pale arms, I relaxed. I laughed. I actually laughed when I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness. I didn't laugh at the fact I was passing out. I laughed because there would be no scars. I laughed because I wouldn't have to wear long sleeves to hide the scars because there would be none.
Or atleast...
That's what I thought.

When I woke up the next morning, I found myself on the bathroom floor, bloodstained blade in my hand. I felt the ghost of a smile flit across my face until I looked at my arms. The cuts were healed, but in their place were brand new scars to add to my collection.
My breathing increased and my chest tightened. This wasn't supposed to happen, they were supposed to disappear. This was the only thing I could count on in my life. The only thing I had control over... and now it's gone.
